Help car won’t start
Help car won’t start
I have a 92 Camaro rs 3.1 with the 5 speed I feel like I have tried everything and it still will not start. I put a resistor in to bypass the vatts system. car Cranks has no security light but won’t start.it will rumble off starting fluid tho.
I replaced the cap and rotor, engine control module, ignition control module, fuel pump, fuel injectors, fuel pressure regulator, fuel filter, it has fresh gas. I am so confused please help

Wasn't sure which of your same posts in different sub forums I should reply to, but chose this one....
If it cranks, it ain't VATS. If it "rumbles off starting fluid", then it has spark. If it has spark and it has fuel pressure, then you need to figure out why the injectors aren't working. Which is weird...because it looks like YOU ARE ALREADY WORKING ON THAT?

First thing to check is what the fuel pressure is at the rails. Should be about 40psi. The ECM won't tell you this so you need to run some checks.

the starter enable relay dispite not sending 30hz to the ecm.
if you check for pulse with a noid light and it’s not present. The next set is to use a vom with a hz setting. Pin f10 labeled at the ecm plug the yellow or sometimes green plug at the ecm key on will have 2.5v 30hz at 50-60% . If it’s not working no injector pulse will occur.

I'd think that the OP would know if he/she put an enabler in there. Also, in my experience, when you do that, the car does fire...then dies immediately. How does the passkey module wire in? Where the resistor would?

A resistors bypass just takes the problematic key reader out of the system. But doesn’t always solve the issue. Timer shop and painless sell a hz module if he doesn’t want to tune it out that if it’s actually the issue. But easy to rule out with testing.a hz modulator wires in after you cut the blue wire to the passkey to send the hz to the ecm.
