I would just go with the MSD SuperConductor 8.5mm wires. They're like $70 or so. Unless you really need the race wires.

I used MSD 8.5's on all my vehicles. They're also expensive. $100-$150 canadian
Are they worth it? For a race vehicle where you want as much spark energy to get to the plugs as possible, Yes. For a street vehicle, no.
Most street vehicles will run fine with 7 or 8mm plug wires. I doubt you would notice any difference between each. A street vehicle is also designed for high milage. A typical set of plug wires should last 5+ years with no problems. All plug wires eventually break down from vibration, heat, oils etc.

does seem a little steep.. are they premade?
if not I say they are crazy. The 40 is 40ohms per foot.
Moroso makes an 11mm wire that is 50ohms and is 74 bucks.
The taylors 409s are 90 bucks and are 50ohms now.

I dont think they are worth it. Accel 8.5 SS wire $28. Now thats worth it considering that its better than the wire most parts stores carry and similarly priced, with the advantage of custom wire routing.

I also use MSD 8.5 Superconductors. I am just organizing my invoices (for my income tax) and I paid C$91.50 at Lordco in Kamloops on July 30, 2001.
This is my second set. I purchased my first set just 2 1/2 years ago, and put a LOT of miles on them. One wire had gone bad (the reason I bought a new set) and measured 20,000 ohms over the length of the wire. But 6 were still within tolerance of the new wires (100 - 150 ohms on average for each lead on my new set) and I actually kept them as "spares". One other wire measured 2,000 ohms and I also tossed that one.
But 6 out of 8 still measuring like new wasn't bad after 2 1/2 years and probably 75,000 miles (120,000 kms).

120,000 km? Wow if i put that much on my beast in two 1/2 yrs (I've only put 6000km's) I'd be broke... but then again you get insane mpg's
