hello folks i recently seen an add by a local performance shop, it read 350 small block professionaly built, best of everything 425 hp. for $3500 canadian, which i think is like 2300 american. is this a good deal, i assume its rebuilt.

 

oh yeah it also said complete drop in.. what does that mean? they install it, or it is ready for you to put in your car?

 

Well, it can't be best of everything because there are cranks/rods that cost $2000US.
Also, they sound like they are selling JUST the engine, no installation included. It's the same as if you bought any part for your car. No-one's going to install the part for the purchase price.

 

For our Canadian dollar that is a decent price. Complete drop in usually means EVERYTHING is there, carb, dist, flexplate, water pump. etc. Price out what it would take to get a similar powered crate motor up here. It's a good deal PROVIDED they actually have a dyno sheet that says 425 horse, an that it's not just a guess that it SHOULD make that much power.

 

I would not believe it. I have alot more than that in my engine just in parts. Beware!!!
