Ok, what rods would you recommend for my 406??? Price is definately a consideration?? (LT1 intake, and 244, 244 cam with mods in sig)

Unless you plan on spinning the engine past 7000 rpm, stock rods with polished beams, shot peened, resized and have ARP bolts will do fine.
the i-beam and chevy pink rods are also good choices, i got these same rods for my 406, the eagle h-beam is about the best rod you can buy, but agian my 406 is much more build then yours is from what you've said so they would not be needed in your case, but that is a fantastic price on them, they sell in jeg's for 499.99 a set.

rebuilding a stock rod will cost you almost as much.
They will need clearancing for most hot cam 400s.

I am just concerned about the weight of the H beam rods. They are 100 grams heavier than Eagle SIR rods. Is this a big deal? Tempest, how built exactly is your 406? How fast is it?
