What size and type of battery?
I need a new battery to replace the old Die hard.
what I need to know is what is the stock size battery in the 88 firebird?
and if you want to venture an opinion -- what battery do you like?
Thanks for the reps.

88,
I've had good luck with the Delco 75-6YR-800CA. Any group 75 with a good cold crank rating should be sufficient. I like the Delcos since they have the hydrometer eye built in, and only have side terminals. Those "dual-terminal" batteries have plates that are not optimized for power transmission to the side terminals, and tend to have a little less capacity.
That's not to mention the potential problems of a couple of extra hot terminals hanging out above the battery in an already tight area. The Delcos are getting a little harder to find, but some better auto parts suppliers still offer them. There is also an Eveready battery that has a good rating (900 CCA) in the group 75 size, and only has side terminals, plus it can be serviced through removable fill caps. No hydrometer, though. I always try to get the electrically largest battery that will physically fit the space. You can't have too much battery.
