Crank Pullies

What is the best way to keep the crank from turning when changing the crank pulley? I have heard of sticking a screw driver in the flywheel somewhere. How would you do this exactly? Any better ways to keep the crank from moving?? Thanks

Stoc,

You can remove teh flywheel inspection cover or starter adn carefully place a prybar or screwdriver against the flywheel teeth or a bolt (preferred) to effectively lock the engine. You can also use a strap wrench on the harmonic damper to prevent rotation while you remove or torque the bolt.
