speedometer noise..

My car's speedometer makes noise when I drive 55-75 mph.
Does it need oil, or is the problem in the cable?
Sometimes, the needle also bounces.
Thanks.

I'd say you just need to lubricate the speedometer cable, since noboby else cares about speedometer troubles on this board.

It definately sounds like your speedo cable. I have the same problem but I just can't seem to get around to it. I've been told that you can spray a little bit of white grease on the end of the cable and the spinning of the cable should draw it through. The inside of the cable is like a spring so you have to make sure that when it spins it will pull the grease up the cable. If you put it in the bottom it may only draw the grease up in reverse.
