Thats a nice cam, but it's way too extreme for a 305. it won't make the power for a 305 that it could for any other larger engine. it would be best for a 350+ motor. Sorry man. Don't know what the best or good cam would be (i'd try the GM perf. parts 350 ramjet cam from www.sdpc2000.com ), but i know that cam your looking at is too big.

I think you are best to stick to a cam with around .450 lift maximum for a 305. This will keep your vacuum high enough to run your brakes, etc., and give you enough low rpm torque to be enjoyable around town. You might be able to get away with a little more if you have a roller cam but I wouldn't push it, unless it is just for the track.
That cam is too big for your 305. Take a look at SLP 214/224 @.050 roller cam that I run. I have about the same mods as you and this cam pulls hard. It even has a good lope at idle. Those 3.73 gears really work geat with this cam too. The only downside is needing new rear tires every few months!

Hey 87-zman...do you know the part # on that slp cam because i was looking on the slp website and all I got were these cams, /www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?PARTNUMBER=51002 and /www.slponline.com/view_product.asp?PARTNUMBER=51000. I dont know if either of those is what you used but if they are let me know. Also, does your car still pass emmisions, I live in mass so I have to pass that ****. Thanks for the help man.

Back to the cam in the original post: You did notice the required modifications to the TPI and torque converter if using that cam?
My cam is in sig. Works great with carb, but would probably be too much duration (powerband above 5500 rpms) for TPI - unless highly modified.

I bought that cam a few years ago through summit. I'll look through my receipts and see if I can find the part number for you. As far as emmissions, well I live in Louisiana and all they ever did is check under the hood so I'm not sure about that. Brakes and power accessories work fine with the cam too.
