How to blow up your car.

So I installed the new cam and port nitrous system onto the firebird this week. Took her down to the track ran 11.37 @ 121 no nitrous. So we set the nitrous up for a 250 shot and dropped it right down to 9.817 @ 138. I knew it was fast, but when I see the time slip I'm freakin' out They won't let me run again because I don't have everything I need to go that fast. So I pull into pits totally hyped up and watch my friends do a couple of runs. So after all's said and done I start her back up and she sounds like sh*t making funny noises all over. So my buddy winches the car up onto his trailer and we head home. Needless to say I'm not feelin' so good at this point. Get her home and start checking her out, U-joints cracked, rear end housing cracked, and one broken tranny mount. Then I start into the engine and don't find anything wrong, so I'm wondering what the heck is going on. Turns out the tranny ate itself and was putting so much drag on the engine that is was slmost stalling out the engine. So if you're wondering how much power a 700 can take, well it's not this much. Looks like time to go with a turbo 400 or if I can put together the cash a built 4L80. At least the engine's ok.

Rollin' snake-eyes, naturally aspirated. And into the singles with the Viagra bottle! Ain't it cool?

Now you're finding out all the weaknesses...

I'm running a Holley in tank pump for the engine using the stock fuel lines. Part #12-903. For the nitrous I'm running a holley blue pump with a seperate rear sump and half inch lines. Plenty of fuel there . I built the engine to take as much as I could pump thruogh it. So I think I'll be adding a second stage soon as I get teh drive train upgrades. Looking at a built 400+gearvendors or a built up 4L80 unit.
