I picked up my wire looms for about $10 or so from Jegs.

Yes, carbed cars are much cheaper, the centerbolt valve cover type are much more expensive.

The only problem I could see is if the conduit grounds and then the spark plugs arc to the conduit. High voltage goes through a LOT and that's why I won't use anything less than 8mm even with a stock HEI setup. Be sure there isn't any arcing inside the conduit .

Don't use zip ties to tie them together, you'll cause arcing. Unless you separate them somehow.

You can use zip ties. Make a very loose loop with one zip tie around four wires. Then take three more zip ties and run them around the first zip tie between each wire and tighten them down. Then tighten the first/main tie. Kinda like this -|-|-|-.
The three zip ties will keep the wires from touching each other, and once you cut off the excess, doesn't actually look too bad. We call 'em "the ******* wire-loom".
