the only way to really tell is to pull the tranny oil cover off and check the valve body. A lot of times our transmissions will shift hard like that if the tv cable isnt adjusted right. Can you bark second or anything like that. I would make sure your tv cable is adjusted right though.

Be sure that your TV cable is properly adjusted, if it is too far back it will cause harder shifts, but causes incorrect line pressure. Go to the tranny board and follow transfixleo's method.

Honestly I don't know how hard those kits shift, but when I bought mine about a week ago, it shifted harder than I'm used to. I've only driven sedans my whole life, so I thought that's just the way it is in sports cars. But then I noticed some coverter/clutch shake and when I checked the fluid it was as black as my oil. It had never been changed, so I did that along with the filter. It shifts a lot better now, but still has some wierd characteristics like rapid rpm increases in around shift points.

The car will get side ways if you floor it when it shifts from first to second.

I would definately check the TV cable, I wouldn't think a shift kit should do that, especially on a motor w/o a lot of HP.

Go to the tranny board and do a search and follow transfixleo's method.
