Air-line to Cat critical?

Is the airline from engine to catalytic converter important? The previous owner of my TA cut the line and closed it off when the cat was removed. I have since installed a Catco 3" converter.

I believe that hose brings exhaust back in to the combustion chamber to be reburned. I dont have it on mine, I dont think its necessary.

from my understanding, that tube goes to the tubes going into your exhaust manifolds. exhaust goes from the cat BACK into the exhaust so it can go through the cat again and make the air cleaner...not really important, especially if you have aftermarket headers.

Umm okay guys, last I checked that pipe was part of the AIR system. It pumps air into the cat to improve the efficieny by providing more oxygen to the process. It also helps keep the cat from being to hot. But if you are running an aftermarket cat, no cat, or hollowed cat, it's not important unless your in a place where they look to see if all the emissions gear is in place.

should be to bring air from the airpump to the cat to help burn the unburnt gas inside there.

without it you stand a chance the unburnt fuel to clog up the cat

That air tube acts as a vent to reduce backfiring. It uses the air pump to reduce pressure build up. Not a necessary item.

Agreed--but I wouldn't go out of my way replacing a missing one unless I was having issues. I've removed them while removing the cat before and I had occational backfire(not really loud) when engine was cold..but that was in part do to a better flowing exhaust resulting in reduced backpressure. I never had related backfire problems once the engine warmed up.
