Engine rebuild

I'm rebuilding my L98 because I broke the ring lands on the pistons after the SC install. I'm rebuilding this thing on a budget.

Would $180 spent on balancing be a good investment?

I'm going back stock except for forged pistons. Any suggestions, keeping in mind that I'm trying to do this on a tight budget?

Balancing is always a good investment. Your bearings will last longer & your engine will run smoother & not work as hard.

Very good investment, saving a few $$$'s in the shortblock will give you nothing but headaches, trust me!
