Whats all this oil gook on the valve?....

Whats the valve on the left valve cover near rear of it?? It looks like the PCV on the right valve cover near the front. My PCV is very clean. But this other valve is covered with gook, the valve itself is pretty oily. The socket in which it goes, is really gooky of oil. The rubber seal that holds the valve in, looks pretty much done, when I push in the valve the seal just expands. When I first took it out, it was kinda stuck from the gook... ne way whats this valve called? Whats it do? Why is this oil there? Is this good, bad? What should I do?

It vents oil fumes into your throttle body. If it leaks you can replace it, if not just clean it off if it bothers you and leave it alone.

Actually that could be a sign of a bad PCV valve or even worse, too much blow-by from the pistons. Here is a quick explanation, the hose on the left side connects the throttle body to the valve cover, and the one on the right is for the PCV valve and connects to the manifold. During normal operation the air enters the crankcase through the left side and exits through the PCV, thus venting the crankcase and burning the hydrocarbons in the cylinders. The PCV is designed to vent a certain amount of vapors from the crankcase due to blow-by, but whenever there's more blow-by than the valve can handle, the excess pressurizes the crankcase and backs up through the left side hose and into the throttle body.
All the oil on the hose is due to a higher than normal vapor flow from the crankcase which is high in oil vapors. If you can live with it is fine but it might just be a sign of a worn engine.

Your lefts and rights are backwards.

Left and right side when referring to a car are ALWAYS taken from the perspective of the driver sitting in the car.

PCV is left side.

Not looking to flame or anything.....

Uniformity makes things easier. It seems to be my mechanic friends' biggest gripe is when people say they're "left rear tire is leaking" when it's really the right rear. It sucks to check the wrong thing out.

Start with the cheap things. Replace the grommet. It could've just gotten old. My 86 cavalier had the same problem. Nutin serious just the rubber dried out. 43K miles on that engine.
