Knock Sensor not working!!!

alright I just replaced the connector cause it was broke and I replaced knock sensor and it doesn't work, I have a new one and hooked it up and still does not retard time, I check the wires and didn't see that its grounding out, also tapping on the block and not getting any reading from the sensor, whats going on with this thing? I m not getting any codes either

check knock counts with a scanner and i should of said ESC, eletronic spark control, or EST eletronic spark timing. either way check the "thing" that changes the timing to see if it works

well i m not getting any knock counts at all, and my timing isn't retrading either. So I changed the module out not to long ago, and I checked all of the connections and everything is plugged in. So I m kinda at a loss, I did get a EST code awhile back but it went away. So does this help?

If the ESC module works and the spark knock sensor is new, then I'd say your not getting knock.

Is that the sensor on the engine block in front of the starter? Should it be replaced if one doesn't know its history? How/ can we tell if it's even working properly?

yeah thats the sensor, well one way to tell if its working, you need a scanner and you can moitor the knock sensor, and you bang on the block and if its working it should retard your timing back. as if your getting preignition cause its bascailly like a microphone for your ignition system, well usually they don't go bad this is what I m told, by my buddy whos a mech, unless your car is laughing at you like mine. but anyway the most common reason is cause crud from your coolet builds up behind sensor and keeps it from listening/ working. Like I said thats what I ve been told, Well my prob is that mine won't respone. And I get knocking underload. I m going to try a new module, maybe that will help I hope.
