I am not sure i have read all the great debates frome the archives about 180 vs. 160 and i just thought the combo of a 180* with water wetter may be a good medium. I use it mostly just for a daily driver. I live near philadelphia Pa so winters can get fairly cold.

you can use water in the summer, just make sure you change it by winter. and water will cool better than antifreeze also. all of the studys I have read and even the test I've done in my car. water will cool the best, just be careful around winter :-)

I plan on running a 160* and water wetter in the late spring, course I don't have an ECM either, if I did I'd go with the 180*. Just be sure you change your fan temp switch so that it comes on earlier than stock or you'll be wasting your time.

water and no antifreeze = rust in the block.Anti freeze prevents rust,so you should always have some in the engine.

Sorry, I'm not real sure, I have a belt driven fan, but you could also wire up a switch to activate whenever you want, course that might become a pain, or what if you forget.

TANK you can find the Switches at Summit Racing. Hypertech Fan Switch is about 44.00 and change without shipping. I put a 160* Hypertech and a 160* Stat in and I'm staying around 180 or so except on real hot days. Well it's always hot in Florida. Try that and see what happens. You'll be surprised how much cooler the engine runs.

Get a fan switch for a Buick Grand National. They come on cooler than our stock switches. $19.99 last time I checked.
