How is the Northstar on power? Being a 32 valve engine I would guess that it isn't bad. Don't know about the displacement, though.

For the size of car they are, them things can move. I've heard of several people on this board say if they had the money they would do a TT Northstar engine. I would definately like one of them cars.

The northstars are rated at 275-300hp depending on the year and model. Very cool motors..they perform very well considering they only come in 4000+ lb wheeled bricks.

The thirdgen speed limiter is at 112..I *think* for all cars that had one at all. If it had the better tire option from the factory it didn't get the speed limiter.

hint..even if you do have one, there is a tech article here on how to bypass it.

What he said, I got's the '98 SLS 4.6 Northstar V-8, 275 hp. It flys (for a brick) . Check out the sig. Actually, i'm lying about the caddy...it's the wifes and I only get to drive it when it needs gas . I'm lookin' at adding a supercharger soon, there's one in development right now. GOTTA GO FASTER!

Lates,
JD

My car will shut down at 120. The only reason for this is my speedo is all craped out. If I go 10 it jumps to 120 then shuts off the fuel pump. Yeah it looks VSS to me.

When I worked at Jiffy Lube we took care of Enterprise rental cars. Yes a new caddy will shut down at 112 mph

Went there to get a speedometer fixed and they said sure we will have it ready by tomarrow morning. I go there and they said they order the wrong part. Ok next day they install the VSS and now when I go about 10mph it reads 120 and kills the engine. So they charge me 150 bucks for the parts and labor but they can even fix it or tell me whats wrong. For that much money I would have stayed with gear driven and just bought a autometer speedo for 150 bucks. Thats the kind of service that makes you want to throw bricks throgh their windows and take 150 out of their account.
