What's up with this line lock?
I installed a line lock today and it isn't working. There is only two wires. Pos. and Neg. I wired the the switch up correctly and got a friend to test it out while I listened for the solenoid to engage. I could just barely hear a click and it wouldn't hold the brakes. We tried and tried but no luck.
Oh, it's a TCI that came from Jegs. Are these just junk? I got frustrated and just unhooked it.

I went to Advance auto parts with the line lock and just got some fittings that looked like they would work. The one that I used on the master side looks just like the one that came out of the master cylinder. I'm not sure if that is flare or reverse flare. I think reverse flare.
On the other end I used one that looks like a pipe bushing. It's 1/8" pipe thread to female flare fitting. Again, I can't tell you which is which when it comes to flares. I was thinking that flare is when it's sort of the female side and reverse is the male side. I just don't know.
At any rate, I got it to hold fluid and not leak. That was my main concern. Now my main concern is getting this thing to work.

Are you "working" it right? Do you push the breaks then push the button on the switch then let off the brakes and it should hold the front tires? Do you have the front brake line going to it and not the back? Just thought I'd ask.

Well, I have pumped the brakes really hard and then pushed thes brake pedal in as hard as I could with two feet. Still no luck with it working. I really think that the solenoid isn't working. When I got my buddy to push the button I could just barely here a click. Most solenoids that I have heard make a loud click.
I do have it hooked up correctly on the front and not the back. I know that I am working it correctly.
Dabe, I would really appreciate it if you could take some pics of yours. I'm pretty sure I did it right but I would like to compare.
Thanks for all the replies.

No leaks. The car brakes just fine without it engaged. I ended up just unhooking the wires and saying forget it for now. I think that I am calling Jegs tomorrow to see if maybe they will exchange it. It doesn't sound like it is engaging correctly.
By the way, I still would like to see the pics.
