should i be scared.

I know this guy who drives a turbo f*** probe, from what i hear it is pretty fast. Now he wants to race me. He smoked a lt1 camaro. I don't want my first loss to be to such a crappy car. I really hope i win this one. I haven't been to the track this year to see what my car runs, but i know it can't be much faster that high 12's with this winter's tweeks(still needs tc and shift kit bad).
Well just wish me luck. I'll keep ya posted.

You have nothing to worry about. If I were you I would put at least $100 on it, it will be the easiest 100 you ever made. Is there anything done to the Probe, I think they ran low to mid 15's from the factory, at best, but I'm not sure. He wouldn't even come close to beating an LT1 unless the car is really built or the LT1 wasn't racing. Go kill him and come back and tell us about it. By the way, you should do the shift kit next, it did wonders for my GTA. Have fun

well probes didn't come stock with turbochargers so it sounds to me like the guy has some money into his engine. watch out if its a 24 valve v6 cuz a turbo will really open those up. he might be spraying too.

but if you run high 12's then you should beat him

The older generation (early 90's) probes did come with a turbo 4 banger. I know this because one of my freinds had one.

Unless its a BUILT turbo 4 or a 2.6 V6 thats had a turbo added, he won't be much of a threat. A V6 probe with boost could handle and LT1 no problem if its running right, but the 4 would take a bit of work. But with the motor your sig says you have, even if he's pushin 9 psi of boost, I don't think I've ever seen a probe fast enough to be a threat to what you've got.

I dont know what turbo 4cly that is but if it the 2.3 out of the T-Birds then it might be able to scoot really good. Those 2.3L will take up to 20psi from the factory. With that amount of boost it will be absolutely flying. As for the boost levels i have seen them do that. The only thing is that i dont know how long those engines will live at those levels.

You've got to be joking. I raced cars on the street all the time with my 13.0 85' Iroc. I actually beat the heck out of a couple of probes just becuase I seen a guy with his girl next to him trying to look cool thinkin he actually had a fast car. I let one go about 100 feet once and blew by him. I saw the guy beating the steering wheel as I passed by him.

And I also crushed many an LT-1. I at least would pull over and give the guy in the LT-1 some respect.

Bury the Probe!

By removing the factory turbo and installing an aftermarket one, or increasing the boost, and not doing any other work, Id say he's somewhere just below 200hp....sure, on a civic thats fast, but this is a probe with some weight issues....

My buddy has a 1992 probe with a 2.2 and that car is pretty damn quick. It is faster than my 4.3 sonoma and faster than a 3.4 liter 4th gen camaro(both cars are 5 speeds)

That car does haul(or used to.(He tore the third member out)It is stock to.I am wondering if he has a turbo.I never looked under the hood.Hmm maybe he does and just isn't telling us.

I sure hope so.
