I had a ***** in a class at school who thought it was the fastest thing around. He actually raced me and I totally walked him. Now he won't talk to me and his ***** buddies who think they are fast won't race me either

You have a V6? I'd say that VTEC will take you quite easily, sorry.

The new 2001 vtecs have 120 hp SOHC. Such a crappy vtec if you ask me. I say run him, I think you will win!

My buddy took a V6 VTECH down with his full size Bronco with a 302. The Bronco was filled with stuff as well. They aren't that fast.

yeah i say i could take him quite easliy cuz all that 127 hp pullin him off the line is nothing
i can jump on my freinds GTP 240 hp car and stay in front of him till like 25-30 mph
but everytime we have the chance he wont go even if were at the track at the same time he wont run so i can see his time and mine

I guess i should have paid more attention to the first post, nevermind.
I have a 2.8 Camaro with intake and exhaust mods, and my dad has a 2001 GTP. He tore me up upwards of 10 times on the local roads....He had me from 0 mph all the way up until I couldnt see him anymore.
If yours is a 2.8, 3.1, 3.4, or 3.8, I would say it could take a 305 tbi, proabably 305 tpi, and maybe more (but can't really say that since i haven't driven more)
gtp is a killer, I could never see a V6 camaro take one without turbo or juice. Thats my opinion.

Are you talking about the v6 taking the gtp or the civic? Because I know for a fact that a few 6's on the board could take a civic with vtec But the gtp, keep dreaming! The new gtp's can be put in the 13's with just a pulley (supercharger) swap! It's one nice family car!

i was talking about the GTP; my 6 can take a lot of hondas and what not, but no way in hell any V6 camaro could come close to the GTP.

With the extra low 1st gear and the trans powering the proper wheels I could easily see him staying with a GTP through 1st. Especially if the other guy can't drive. I beat a 4.6 5 spd running a 15.8. I know that's slow, but the ign. kept crapping out(I should be down in the 14s). He just spun through 1st spun throgh 2nd. I guess it scared him enough that he bogged it in 3rd. Terrible! I think he ran a low 16.

my buddy has a top of the line accord v6 v-tec and that thing is sweet. all leather, the thing will run into the 90s (mph) and be a smooth as hell on the road and feel like you are going 40. it feels fast (it's stock) we never raced, (both of us are not that type) but i don't know what it'll do....

I have a 3.1 5 spped with a few mods.

I can take alot of 305 TBI's by more then 1 car length. Raced a new Civic V Tec and raped it, he stopped after he heard my 3rd gear chirp.

I do not even bother to race 4 cyl V tec's.

He said ok lets go to the highway then and race 50-90, I say ok. Same thing, I down shift into 3rd, 5500 go 4th, I am doing 85-90 and shift 5th he is nowhere to be seen. I guess he pulld off from the embarassment.
of course he kept saying, well I get better MPG then you!(the last desperate statement to make his car sound somehwat good), I said doubt it I can get over 300 Miles a tank. usually I get 320-330, so thats damn near 29 on mixed city/highway. He then stompped off never to be seen again

hold up now! i'm not an import fan by any means, but my girlfriend has a brand new Honda s2000. it's a v-tech, and once you hit about 6k, that thing pulls all the way to 9k. hard. i'm sure that car would take a few cars on this board. but my favorite part of her car is the big red "start" button. i love pushing it.

I don't think camaro hunter was talking about taking an s2000. A s2000 is quite a bit faster than a v6 camaro. but not than a v8!

Bottom line here - if you have a V6, I would stay away from Civic EX's or Si's, and Integra GS-R and Type-R's, with manual, not sure about how the auto's fair though. They will own you if they have manual, I'm sorry, but they will.

As for the V6 VTEC being 0wned by a bronco. There are only 2 V6 VTEC's I'm aware of, Accord and NSX, and since you didn't say NSX I'm assuming it was an accord. Accords aren't that fast, but they are pretty d@mn nice cars. I actually want one, but I can tell you they aren't fast, so a bronco beating an Accord isn't a great feat...

The 2001 EX's have 127 hp. A v6 camaro has 140. This race could go either way. But an older SI has 160 hp. They will whoop you.

fwd vs rwd

yes grant it the SI has more stock hp then the v6 camaro, but im thinkin the fwd cripples then off the line, so with that in mind it should be a good race, but then again this is me thinkin and for some reason i can jump out ahead of my freinds GTP all the way through first and he has 100 more hp then me

I replied to your PM but here it is for the rest of you.

92 3.1 5 Speed. Mods...
Injectors, port polish intakes, Clutch, rear tires Firehawks SZ50's, custom CAI, K&N relocated batt.

I have not raced a NSX(there are none around here) I have raced Type R integras and beat them. I am still tring to find out when the tack is open around here (so I can get times) .. I went by there tonight to see if they were open(It was 7ish) and no one was there, but yet I heard music going through the PA system... Go fig???

I raced a new Civic SI(kid from college wanted to) so we dragged from a 30MPH roll, down roughly 1/4-2/3 mile to the turn(a pretty sharp 90 degree) and I took him easily. Not to mention he had to really slam on the brakes for the turn, while I took it at over 55! LOL No tire noise/loose of traction at all!. Gotta love those Z Sway bars and wonder bar!. He then followed me onto I-57 and got beside me after I got straight and said lets go. I told him 60-100(I still have the stock chip and I have that damn limiter on it) so he said ok... well I beat him there too...

I don't know if it was auto or stick, but I know I beat it baddly...

Well it was my first time out to the track. I just did it for the hell of it, not really much else to do on a thursday night. Oh well, not like i'm gonna rice out my car like alot of other ppl there did. Its just for the hell of it. *shrugs* I'm not turnin pro either.
oh also one other run that we took here's the times, have slip also if you want me to post.
Me Him
R/t .552 .695

MPH 48.38 46.74
1/8 11.513 11.468
MPH 61.90 90.40

that was like my second or third run ever. I know i only have 127 HP, i dont plan on racin it, sept maybe for the hell of it, i also raced a lightning, got killed he ran like a 10 or something that run i ran like a 11.7. Now lastnight was the first time i redlined it and the revlimited kicked, i was pretty surprised by that too, it was kinda funny. I think i got video of that too. Ask and i'll try to find it.

the lightning he ran did a 8.9 not a 10
it was funny though there was that lightning doing a 8.9 another doing a 9.6 and the last doing a 10.4, i was like which one is not a lightning

yeah but anyways i beat the civic on 4 cylinders and 2 crippled ones, to of my spark plug wires lose the shock, the harder i push the gas the more power losses, but ill have that fixed by next time i go and ill have my shift kit

so what i can do then

Man those are some close times. Still sad for the Civic though because you have a bigger car than him and he has almost the same amount of HP as you yet you still took him. 11 sec 1/8th though geez
