Interesting ride to Taco Bell

It's 11.30 pm. I'm hungry, so I make the 7 mile trek into town to get some Taco Bell. I'm about 3 miles into the middle of nowhere when a 68 Camaro blows by me with the 2 chamber Flowmaster roaring. Then I see the license plate "BLEWBYU". Sure did, so I gave him a thumbs up when he turned.

I get up to the Taco Bell drive thru window, and the first guy turns to the window and says, "Hey, that's a damn nice Camaro." Then the food guy comes to the window and says, "Damn, that's a nice Iroc. Will you let it loose a little when you get out on the street for me?" Sure I will, why the hell not?

So I get up to the light by the Taco Bell, and it's red in my direction. I figure this is a good place to let it rip so I get up on the stall converter like I was at the tree at the strip. I see some headlights coming down into the lane I merge to, didn't look like a cop, so I hit it when the light turned green. After I laid rubber most of the way across the intersection, I hear this un-riced but Altezza'ed Accord rev up to try to pass me on the merge, so I kept in it. I start pulling and by the time I take a look at the speedo, I'm doing 90 and it's about 2 cars back. So I give him the flash and start to slow down.... there it was, the patented ***** flyby. He slowed down in front of me and there was yet another merge coming up, so I figured I'd see if I can make up the 4 carlengths before the merge and do the Iroc flyby. I get about up to his bumper before I hear his engine rev up, but by that time it was too late. I made the merge and his headlights disappeared behind me.

This was much better than my ****-poor times at the track. I got beat a full second by a first generation Eclipse turbo, 2 tenths by a 2001 SVT Cobra, and I couldn't break a 15 uncorrected if I tried. Of course, the 100 degree air temperature didn't help.

Sounds like you had fun My best friend works at Taco Bell and he tells about the cars that come through the drive thru. He will say wow this awesome Camaro came through but they didn't rev or anything. So those of you out there with sweet rides give it a rev and squeal for the drive thru guys next time you are there
