iroc v.s. ws6

alright. i'm new at posting here so i hope this goes okay. my uncle has a 2000 trans am. ram air, auto. all stock except for flowmaster exhaust. he wants to race and put a few hundred on it. look at my setup and tell me what you think please.

89 Iroc (orig 305, 5-spd)

motor:
L98 (non-original) built to stock, 2000 miles old
ATI procharger, 9lbs boost
exhaust:
full exhaust (headers, dual cats, flowmaster)
trans:
T-56 hurst shifter
gears:
4.10
suspension:
full performance suspension (bmr fabrication) everything they make for this car

so what do you guys say? i've ridden in my uncles car, mine feels faster. but i don't have any numbers to prove it. what should i do?

if you don't fry the tires you should have him. if he has the 2.73 gears in the auto (like my friend) bone stock its hard to get them into the 13's even. if he has the 3.23's or 3.42's or whatever the step up is he can probably put down solid mid-high 13's
a flowmaster on those cars donesn't really do anything. borla is the way to go for the ls1's
if your uncle wants to make it fast then tell him to get a lid, yank st3500 stall converter and some slicks and he'll be good for some mid 12's possibly better.
i still say you have him. in my 305 i was able to get my friends 2000 z-28 in the 1/8th or be even at the 1/8th but he had a higher mph and would them go to wax me for the rest of the 1/4
with your blower you shouldn't have trouble just get traction

If you can drive you should have him . Sounds like it could be a good race.

As much as I hate to go against a 4th gen I'd guess you'll get him by a little......as long as you hook. If you don't he'll probably come out on top. I'll say his car should cut a low 13 and with your setup you'll probably be in the high 12's

Let us know as soon as it goes down

BEAUTIFUL!!! i called my uncle up about nine last night. told him we would run for three hundred. he came over this morning, about eight. we headed out down my road. (i live in the country) got to the racing spot (it's basically one tree next to the road. wide, flat, striaght, smooth road. and another tree almost exactly 1/4 mile down the road) did burnouts, lined up. my mom gave the flag, and we were off. my car HOOKED! it took off! i had him all the way. it has to be running mid 12's. it was frickin fast! he handed my money to me. and we went home. it was awesome. my first REAL race with this setup, and i spanked a ws6. what a perfect day this is. :lala: :lala: :lala:

Thats awsome, although some here wouldnt condone racing on public roads. Anyway, how much did it cost you for the whole procharger setup?

i have a friend that bought the PC setup new. i think he paid $3500. he had an 88 iroc with my motor that i now have. anywho, he and his iroc ended up eating a telephone pole. he got insurance money, bought a 95 z-28. i got the whole wrecked car, and supercharger for $5000. the supercharger was still in the box. i pulled the motor. had it rebuilt to stock, had the same speed shop install the charger. i know that it's an expensive piece. i just got lucky

Awesome kill

I figured if you hooked you'd win. Get it out on the track and give us some numbers, I'm interested in seeing what it'll turn.
