track times

i went to the local tracks (8th mile) and i was just wondering what ya'll think of my best time. my mods are in the sig

10.222@69.88 with a 2.67 60ft and a .798

is this incredibly bad for my first time to the track ever? i was really hoping for 9's but i think i just need some practice and some traction ( car spun 1/2 down track )

also, my tans mount is broke, i had everything in my car that i do on the street and my windows were down (whoops )

what do you guys think?

Were you spinning That is a really bad 60ft time. Get that down a little and you'll definitly be in the 9's

yeah i was spinning bad, i know my car has more than that, i guess i must be a really crappy driver, on my last pass i got a good start( hardly any spinning) but as soon as i floored it the car stalled, i later figured it out that the fuel tank was too low and when i hit it the pickup was uncovered , that would have been a 9 for sure, but theres always next time

You must have spun horribly. I went 10.790 at 69.33 with a 2.5 60'. I ended up running a 16.219 in the 1/4. I spun the tires for almost an 1/8 mile on that run. To give you an idea of what I did when I had traction, i went 9.117 @ 77.60 in the 1/8 with a 2.108 60'. So get that 60' down and you may be a contendor for the 8s!!!

i was wondering how much of an impact the following things hurt my et and mph :

1) transmisson mount is broken-got a new polyurethane one

2) my car has an open differential and spun like all

3) my car was near 200 degrees b/c i had to sit and wait for about 15 min. with the car running

4) my windows were down

also how much of an improvement would taking all but the drivers seat out net me? next time i go to the track i plan to have all these problems fixed , ill have a posi, lower control arms, and maybe some 1.6 ratio roller rockers do you think ill be able to run a 9.5 at least?

thanks

It's true. With the stock converter the car would hold it till about 1600 to 1800. Ever since I got my supposed 2400 stall, I cannot hold it over 1400 or 1500. There is no flash and the car is bogging off the line. It sucks.

I REALLY want to do a 5-speed conversion, badly and right now I am desperately looking for the cheapest way to get one!

Those look like the times I got when I took my car down to the track. I had a bad reaction time and spun the tires through 1st and 2nd. It was my 1st time at drag strip so I have an excuse

if you beef up the rear suspension about times will drop alot.. i like to say powers no good if you dont have the suspension and tires to apply it to the ground and move the car.. also a posi would help. either box the sotckers or get aftermarket LCA's and panhard rod and not only will it help you at the track but it will help you in the overall handling of the car..
