A really, really fast car never ceases to amaze me. I mean, you know it's fast, but when you actually see it...

I agree. I've heard of some stock C5s with good drivers doing that. I've even heard of some LS1 f-bodys doing that stock or minor bolt-ons.

Hey. I was at the track and saw the cars running. That track was horrible last night. The weather sucked and no one seemed to be able to get traction.

Bubbz89- You see a Black 91 Z running? That was me running painfully slow! Did you run? Cause I didn't see any other 3rd gens.

David

P.S. How bout that Viper :-D

I was there too...I am David's friend. Everyone I saw last night was running about .5 seconds slower than they normally do! It was bad.

I had a 2000 Z24 Cavalier, only cavalier running that night.
Let's just say I did bad

I raced a Modded Z06 from a roll and he completly killed me by about 4 cars. From what I heard he has engine work done with bolt-ons.

yea i saw you running, that viper was cooking !!! the weather was horrible!!! i am gonna see what the ol formula will do next week. its arctic white and has t-tops. and a dented in driver side fender. hope to knock down a low 14 if i get my shifts down and get a good 60 footer. btw, do you run faster letting the car shift on its own, because i noticed both hands on the wheel when you were runnin. also, your car is beautiful!!!

hey ERICMAC- were you runnin the new red one or the primed out one? you guys see that freakin saturn???????

Hey
Thanks for the comment, I'm rather fond of it myself!! I let it shift for itself. I've heard that shifting the auto can quicken it's death. The trans was rebuilt before I got the car and it shifts pretty well.

Eric's got the red 2000 Cavi. I saw that Saturn that was crazy! He ran a 15.5 on one run and then a 14.5 another run so I imagine he was spraying.

Sounds like ya got a nice Formula on your hands. Let me know when ya go out to the track and I'll try to show up.

haha, that saturn had NAAAAWWWWWZZZZ Hell if NOS would make me run a 14.4 I would be happy Actually there are some cavaliers running 14.1's on a 50 shot...maybe that will be my next mod No I will save up for the GM supercharger! ***, if I only had a few thousand laying around!

Hopefully we'll see your "screaming chicken" run some better times than me or davids. I can't believe how bad the track was. I also don't think they put any VHT down after it rained! Traction SUCKED!!!

I don't remember exactly my 60' times, but they were on up there...I think mine were closer to 2.4...I might have had 1 or 2 2.3's but with a 1/4 time of 15.9 with header & full exhaust (I ran a 15.6 with out exhaust) I don't think I am going to count ANY of my runs from Thursday night...they ALL sucked!

Hey,
As I said before I couldn't get much traction but my best 60' was 2.193 and my worst was a 2.465. Other than that I ran somewhere around a 2.3. I can definatly tell there is room for improvement.

I've heard stories of them going low 12's/high 11's bone stock, but have never seen one run any better than 12.7x in person. The ones I've seen do have the trap speed to run a lot quicker than they did though.

The new 2002 ZO6's run 12.5 stock down here at Moroso. If they have a good driver.

my dad is a gm engineer and is friends with the corvette guys. they were testing the 385 horse versions and pulling 12.2s with 3.8 0-60 times. on one occasion, one ran a 3.66 0-60. not bad...sweet cars, I've driven many Z06s. As soon as i can afford one, it's mine. a yellow one!
