Wathc out RX7, I also posted about beating a Vette and I got flamed for it. I also had the track times to prove it. Obviousley we both saw bad drivers in good cars!

A kill is a kill!

sure you did. I bet he was really trying to race too. Especially if you had a few car lengths by 50mph. Maybe you should try racing when someone is IN the Vette.

Guys, you need to get over it, RX has been here for a while, and wouldn't lie. Maybe the Vette wasn't fully racing, but he's not going to lie about beating one.

someone was in the vette

not my fault if he stalls it

he doesn't need to drive the car I agree

and also if you want to talk about me not being able to race things you should have talked to me late last year

I'm sure I would have been able to take on your car with ease

only problem is I blew the motor

we both pull up to the light and it was something that doesn't happen for me to pull up next to a vette. his window was down and I was like you wanna go. he asid sure. then I ask what all he has and he told me it was his dads car so he isn't sure but he thinks it has a lot of work done to it. so I rev my car up to my launch rpm of 3750 and I do not hear a thing from his car still sounds like he is at an idle

well light turns green I dump the clutch and look to my side and he is just still sitting there... um oops.

from what it looks like he just dumped the clutch at an idle

stupid driver

I am missing a turbo though

Yeah those 6spds are tricky. I drove a Vette after 2 yrs of not driving a stick. It's kind of hard to take off in 3rd gear as I found out when I stalled.

not sure if it was in third or something but I didn't really hear his motor rev up or anything like he was going to launch at anything but an idle

just saw the the jerk forward and sudden stop and that was it

though yeah my first time in a vette 6spd I was wondering why there was only 4 gears . their shifter is a little wierd

I never said you couldn't race, just that I find it hard to believe that if someone in a vette was racing that it could be taken by an RX.
I will agree that if he stalled it the win is legit.

Intereseted in your previous vehicle description though. Sounds interesting!

a stock N/A your right they should lose again unless it is a peri port with some other serious mods

but then again that is a lot of money

a turbo RX-7 it wouldn't be all that hard to believe. stock turbo yes. even a thirdgen rx7. but both second and thirdgen turbo rx7 is very easy to modify. there are quite a few guy in our club that are mid to low 13. one is in the 12's and we should have anouther there but new motor not used to it yet

the other motor had a turbo block in it with a t04 and some other goodies running about 12-15 psi (damn boost creep) and all in all was putting out about 300hp to the wheels. but due to some tuning issues I chucked an apex seal and bye-bye motor ( wasn't the motors fault so don't give me rotarys suck guys cause it was my fault )

Good show, *****...

So...Ladies and Gentlemen...and Board *****, ...Anybody see what the C6 is going to look like in 2005?
Sorry to change the subject, but I am interested in your thoughts on this.
It is embarrassing to screw up against a...uh...not as fast car. So his car probably is faster. So what? YOU beat HIM. Even if you car could not beat his. Good win.

I have a lot of respect for what RX-7's can do if done properly. The fastest car I've seen at our tracks midnight racing was an Rx7 running constant 10.7's. But, I'm not positive his car was actually street driven, it looked more like a trailor queen. Still pretty cool.

too bad we dont live closer together.. i've got the same drivetrain he does. have you driven an ls1? just wondering.. unless you have serious traction you dont really want to launch(or try to) much above idle, i spin through first and second and i'm stock.. just rolling in first about 20, ease into the gas and schreeech, spin. yea you did technically beat him, but i wouldn't go bragging to much about beating a c5.. i mena thats like any of us saying we 'beat' a highly modded GN. i mean, yea, ya did, but on the other hand ya really didn't.

Thats racing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you lose because you missed a shift, you LOST, no questions asked. I also beat a C5, 2 out of 4 times heads up and in the brackets he dialed .6 lower and beat me by .1, but I won. I know he ran a 14.8 and could not drive, but he LOST!!! If we were street racing for money, he would have had to pay up, no matter what! And don't go calling out a guy with a 1.3L motor, to make the LS1s look good, grow up!

The Vette Lost!

hey I know a few 1.3L motors in the area that should be more then willing to take him on

one of them is running a 12.8

the other just upgraded his turbo to a t-60 and should be getting it on this weekend

and my car would have stood a chance against you once before.. just not anymore

oh gimme a break 5.0. so the 1.3 can claim victory against an ls1 but not vice versa?

i have no doubt rotaries can be made to go fast.. but my point was if your running 14.8(correct?) don't go simply saying you pulled 5 cars on an LS1 by 50mph.

bob- "I beat john force by 30 cars!!!"

joe- "yea, but his car was off and he was enjoying a beer in his lawn chair beside it... "

bob - "yea! but so! i still beat him!"

....

you get my point.. post all you want about beating whatever car, but don't simply forget to include that the guy sucked as a driver

and the 14.8 was with a lot of stuff I don't have on the car at the moment plus less things I need to fix back then but that was not a corrected time just a raw g-tech run

right now I am hitting 16.1x all the time

yeah I agree I shouldn't have beat the vette... I didn't plan on beating the vette... I figured I would lose I just wanted to watched the vette in action.... guess I ended up getting more then I thought I would

a kill, is a kill, is a kill,
you are racing the driver as much as you are racing the car.
if you both tried to launch at the same time from the same light and he stalled, he lost. you won. he just needs to learn how to drive.
why do i keep defending you Rx7?
lol:lala: :lala:
it's still a kill in my book.

yea its sad isn't it?
I defend the guy with the import car over the kid in the Vette.

.....his cell phone was ringing at that moment and it distracted him causing him to slip his foot off of the clutch and stall the car giving you the win!!!
thats my story and i am sticking to it!!!!! lol

hey I´m not going to get into the races where I lost to some sad cars

you know the nice 2nd to 5th upshift

or dumping the clutch in 3rd gear

or the weirdest one yet that I still do not understand is the 3rd to 2nd "upshift"

In a RACE (you know where both cars are racing, not parked) anything can happen. If you stall or miss a shift or have it in reverse, and lose, you have LOST!!!

He obviousely knows a Vette is faster then him, and even said it. And you calling out a 16 second car is stupid. That is like me calling out a pickup, because he once beat a 5.0 who missed a shift!

Don't worry RX7, he has no real point, you admitted he was a worse driver, and everyone else knows that missed shifts, or stalling is part of racing!

i obviously can't get to there from here with you.. i admit, your right, you win!

As I said, if your gonna say you won, fine. But INITIALLY don't make it out to be like you have close to 500hp(which it would take to pull that much of a lead by 50), go ahead and lay it all out on the table

Okay, he WON Vette LOST.

Racer W L

RX7 1 0
Vette 0 1

See the RX7 beat the Vette in a race! The driver in the Vette sucked and he beat it! Is that laying it all out on the table, or do we have to type in some other language for you to see what we are saying!

ok guys calm down

you talk about me laying it on the table

I claimed the vette stalled it...

also most ppl on the board know that right now I am without a turbo anymore. most ppl also know I am not the fastest car... most ppl also seem to know that I wouldn´t stand a chance against a vette unless it is late 70´s vette or one without a good driver...

you seem to be the only one who doesn´t know that

just read my post a l ittle more and you will see that I DID POST about the vette STALLING the car

but I think most anyone here knows that I wouldn't stand a chance against a vette

you should know that by now also

but that post was still made about how he stalled it.....

sorry to offend you but I figured like everyone else here they would know my car wouldn't stand a chance against a vette ( least not anymore) and never would beat a vette that bad unless he could drive

I mean come on common sence here

mtx28 wanna run? I see you have a 01 SS. Nice car how well can you drive it? Oh and you can pick either of the Mustangs to run it doesn't really matter to me. I love racing LS1 owners.
