Ok this guy in a hatch (92 SI) just swapped in an LS V-TEC motor. He wants to race now that he's done that. I've heard some crazy things about these engines. Know anything about them?? I've seen a coupe run with one and he was quick. Any info is appreciated.

It's a hybrid motor. Im pretty sure it's an LS Integra engine with a different head and some internals, but Im not sure.
I think the code for the block is B18a...don't quote me on that

well my buddy had a b16 motor in his 94 civic si(switched of course) and he was in the low 14s with just headers/and other exaust stuff..so id say if that motor is what he had...you may be in for a supprise....those things arent heavy so they will have an advantage there....i say b4 you race..get as much info as you can come here and ask youll get the info you need...otherwise..try him and see...you never know he may miss a gear or something..anything happens when you race..
good luck

it is an integra LS botom end with a vtec head.. they make good FULL range power... most vtec cars only make top end power... and the integra ls only make lower end power.. so they hook them together and make ls-vtec.. great cheap motor combo.. sometimes they also boost them.. in a hatch.. (no offense) but with a good driver, if you are in the high 24's should handle you pretty easily... a NORMAL b series swap in a hatch can go lower 14's... so this should easily hit low 14's.. traction may be a problem

it is a 1.8l motor... there are other factors like engine managment,... when you say swap im assuming he has a good computer in there... but those are MAJOR factors in tuning.. this could be a high 14 sec car, or a high 13 sec car, with tunning...

ya its bacically what they call a frankenstein motor, it has the best intrenals that you can put together form factory, if they are rebuilt correvtally they can be rather fast, but not to fast if dont by a retard, and they only reason that i know this crap is because my 21 year old brother is a major ***** along with his friends, but they are still cool guys and get pissd when i used to kill them in my camaro before i killed my motor.
