My first Loss :(

My buddy has a 96 Grand prix. He ripped out his 3.4 and dropped in a 3800 Series II supercharged motor. So he's got about a 300lb advantage over regular gtps.

So tonight, after trash talking the whole summer, we decided it was gonna go down. He has the smaller pulley (adds 35-40 hp I believe), full exhaust (Not just a catback) with no resonators, CAI, and some other small stuff.

It was a cold crisp night

We could not for the life of us catch a red light. So we went from a 35mph roll to 85. And he very very very slowly was pulling on me. By 85 when we shut down, he had me by half a car length.

Now im REALLY mad! Im almost positive I could have made up for that half car if we raced from a stop due to the Torque monster L98. It was a real fun race though!

He best time is a 14.3, but that day at the track it was 80 degrees and 100% Humidity.

Give me a CAI, Headers, New Y pipe, and a AFPR and I think im all set to beat him

Come on, you've had that car long enough, slap some headers or put some 3:42s in.

Hmm, lemme think about it. It's kind of a family secret

I can't wait to race from a stop. I know i'll make up for that 1/2 car.

If you run him heads up, you'll win. 3.42:1 gears, a posi and drag radials should help you beat this Grand Prix guy.

Just get a high stall converter, and drag radials, and you;ll blow his doors out.

Would a high stall converter really be such a good idea? Our motors are torque monsters, not high revving HP machines. If you iniostall a converter with too high a true stall speed, you're throwing away the low rpm torque in the powerband. But as long as it's stall isn't TOO high, it could help a bit. what is the stall speed of the converter you have now?
