I hang my head in shame :(

Last night I was driving down a hill here in Calgary when this moron pulls right up on my rear end and proceeds to tailgate me until we got to the light about a mile later. I don't know who this turkey was but he is sitting right on my bumper, maybe 3 feet back, and is old enough to know better.

He's driving a mid-80s Monte Carlo or Cutlass, it was dark and I was peeved at his miserable driving. We were waiting at the double left turn signal, me in the left lane and him in the right. The light turned green and we were both off, but to stay in my own lane I had to ease up through the corner. This popped me into second gear, which is not advantageous with a 700r4, to say the least. Thus this creep is keeping up with me for a short distance.

Ahhh, but that's when I hit 3500 rpm and the QJet's secondaries came on line. Suddenly my Camaro lets out this tremendous roar and I streak forward like I've just hit it with a 100 hp snort of the juice! I just walked away from him and in no time at all had him by about five car lengths.

I then pulled in front of him and took the lane, slowing down to turn the corner--and peeve him off. He changes lanes and then proceeds straight through the intersection, his tail tucked between his legs and his pride sorely smitten.

I don't believe in street racing and never do it, thus I hang my 44 year old head in shame for succumbing to this twit's provocation.

But it sure did feel good to thump his butt and then rub it in

Good kill. Those morons provoke it when they tailgate like that. I usually just push the brake enough so the light comes on but the brakes don't.

Tailgating is some sort of sickness. Most of those affected don't even know they are doing it or worse yet don't realize how dangerous it is. And they also don't seem to realize how bad it pisses people off. So when you get out at the stoplight and walk back to their car and try to rip them out of their seat they have this dazed look of what the he** is wrong with you.

I think you handled the situation very well. It is hard to think rationally when you are mad like that. And maybe now that he realizes that his car is not the fastest thing on wheels he will back off of someone else.

A common sight in the rearview where I live is a car so close, you can't even see thier headlights, on the highway, to boot! I usually employ tyhe same brake light ruse that Mark A Shields was talking about. This is especially aggravating in the winter time, when roads are slick. I often have highway fantasies of kicking up a rock and sending it through their radiator.

I had a 6 cylinder mustang doing that to me one night. He got right on my tail, and I downshifted to 2nd at 45 mph. I floor it to about 65 and he just backed right off. Got the message. I had a riced out integra doing the same thing to me. I dropped to 2nd and just left him behind. Of course later this person went to pass me, gets ahead, I step on it and she cuts me off. At like 70 mph. My friend is all making fun of me, and im like, remember when I actually stepped on it from the get go we couldnt even see it back there. Then he goes on about how I lost and Im like "Well if you really wanted me to bolt off at 100 on this road and endanger my life and ours then say i lost." He shut up.

i prefer the method Ian F taught me. Slam on the brakes and then gun it. Risky yet hilarious. And in his car they become a dot very soon Hey Curt, i'll help you beat up on those tailgaters.

Just keep turing the flash signal left and right, and confuse them, then when they get mad and go to the next lane to pass u, GUN IT!!! That would be funny!
