Me vs. a supercharged mustang :)
Why not? Personally I was running a 125 shot, never had a problem. My block and crank can stand up to a 160 shot. My ATI Procharger arrived thursday and its going on sometime soon with 10 psi on stock everything. After I go forged its going to be 15psi with a 50 shot. Only on forged rods and pistons. You're telling me Ford's engines aren't made well? Or are you saying they cant make hp? LOL 8psi on a DOHC 4.6L will make you 500rwhp on a dyno tune. Do alittle research before you go off mouthing to people. Not starting anything just saying...

How much power are you talking about? Low 12s isn't a thing for the stock rotating assembly. There are plenty of people who go 10s on a 5.0 with ported TFS heads, and are still very streetable. This can still be done on stock pistons

Brand new the A4 block will run you ~ $3000 full machined and ready to go from Bennett Racing. I'm sure you could find a better price somewhere else.
I've got several friends pushing 450+ rwhp on the stock block. One of whom is making 596 ft. lbs. of torque. He knows he's on borrowed time, but he only shifts at 5200, which should help it last a little longer than a 6000+ rpm combo.
You can spin the stock bottom end a lot higher than people think as well. I recently talked to Larry Felts (2-time FFW S/W champion) about it and he told me he's turning the stock bottom end to 7000 rpm and said I should have no problems turning 6500 rpm on a regular basis. He did recommend having the bottom end balanced and blue printed if I planned on turning it any higher though.

Actually I raced my buddy in his supercharged mustang once and beat him in about like the 1/8th mile. Unless he has some suspension mods he will light them up and sit back going sideways. then he finally started moving and about lost it again when he hit 2nd. It was the craziest car ive ever seen. Probably would have ran 12s with traction

I think all were around 400hp at the wheels, one was 450 and the guy in the 12's said he should be running faster but can't figure it out. My nieghbor was pushing over 400rwhp with stock short blocks, victor jr. heads unknown F.I. intake and unknown cam. He has trashed many lower ends. Some of you guys may be interested in some parts I know of, in particular a rare set of heads that were designed for nascar racing and only a few were produced-I think in the late 80's or early 90's.Also lots of good aftermarket lower end peices. I'll post back later today with what everything is and how to contact if anyone is interested. Monkie you will spin a rod bearing, it's only a matter of time with the 4.6

Yates heads...WAY too big for anything driven on the street and outlawed in all of the classes except for Pro and SSO. Canted valve heads with a 2.08 intake valve I believe.
I saw an article about the s281 saleen in one of my dads mustang magazines. Ran high 11's on slicks i do believe. And mid 12s on street tires. I wouldnt classify that as a "stock" car tho.
No that one wa the S281 Extreme. It did run a high 11 with tires, and the only other car that has done that was the Viper (or so the mag says!). The regular SC'd ones run low to mid 13s!

In head to head testing between the Roush Stage 3 and S281, the Roush ran 12.83 @ 107 and the S281 ran 12.92 @ 105 on street tires. They put slicks on the S281 after that and ran 12.70.
