Bye bye Camaro, Hello parents car...
Well, the camaro will be stored in the garage as on Saturday

anyways, I'll be driving my parents cars for a while.
We just bought a 93 Oldmobile Cutlass Ciera:

3.3L V6
Only 39 000 KM, not miles
I was told they make 160hp (5 more than my car! lol)
dont know about weight or anything...
Anyways, what cars should I be able to beat?
I was thinkin V6 Cavaliers, Civics?
What do you guys think?

Hey, at least the car will be safe in storage, till later. It's nice not having to drive it everyday for me at least, gives you time to mod it, and keep it a bit safer too.
I like to think that these types of cars were meant to be driven, not sit in the garage. If I ever but a TTA I better not tell anyone on here cuz I will HAVE to drive it EVERYDAY!!!! (I know you guys wouldn't approve of me racking up the miles on a car like that

i'm not storing it forever! Just until i get out of school (college or university, haven't decided yet) Then I'm bringing the car out!!
I'm only 17 and I can't afford to keep my car in it's current condition making $7.50 at the grocery store. After school when I have some money, I'm gonna do a frame-off restoration, with, maybe, a big block?
I don't want anyone to think I'm the kind of guy who would trailer his car from show to show, or keep it in the garage for 30 years or something! I drove my car every day all day this summer and I loved it! At my age I just can't afford to keep my car on the road! And IMOA it's in too good condition to get beaten regulary as a daily driver! I bet I put more kms on my car this summer than you did.
When I bring it back, It won't be my daily driver, as I intend to put alot of work, time, and money into this car, but I will definately DRIVE it as much as possible!!
sorry for the vent...
i'm talking about the late 80's early 90's cavs

When you say v6 Cavalier's, Do you mean the early 90's ones? Since none of the new ones have bigger than a 2.4l I4 in them.

As for your original question, I think you should be able to take out your fare share of ricers. The car has 160 hp and only weighs 2900 lbs. Not a bad hp to weight ratio. It would definitely be a sleeper.

On the 1/4 mile it should run 16.something. Now think of how many vehicles run 17s, 18s, or worse. He's ripped me a new one in my Topaz, and should edge the LTD. He'll kill my truck now and probably after the rebuild.
It's his fastest vehicle now--he's looking for a muscle car. Looking at several actually:
1972 Mustang Coupe, 428 CJ, 3A, 4.11
1966 Charger, 340, 3A, ?.??
1979 Camaro, 330, 2A, ?.??
1975 98, 455, 3A, ?.?? (Just wants 455 and 350 TH mainly)
1987 Cutlass Supreme, 307, 4AOD, ?.??
Those are the kinds of choices I like. Personally, I think if he gets one Olds, he should get both, switch engines and transmissions, and sale the big one. If he gets the Charger, he's going to want to put in a big block. Mustang needs engine and trans rebuild...
Anyway, maybe you can really have some fun out of this 3300. I wonder what kind of mods are available...

I had an 89' Buick Century with the 3.3. These cars are only like 2800 lbs, 160-175hp and that car would scoot. I used to beat people all the time. Honestly when I first got my LO3 I thought my buick was quicker. They handle like a paper plate in a blizzard but in a straight line they will flat out book.

My brother's 90 Ciera SL is pretty quick. Amazing torque for what it is as well. Loud for that kind of car. He guns it, it roars and the front end raises up off of the wheels quite a bit.
I hope you're not in a strict car regulation zone or whatever. Seems like these cars are kind of loud and they like to pollute. Olds never has put very much attention on exhaust systems. Mufflers? Why? Emissions? Who cares?

My car will be getting parked for the winter as soon as i find myself a nice Mark 8 to drive in the meanwhile. I love my car and such, but there are times you want to get anway and drive a couch on wheels

Exactly.
If you have a musclecar/sports car, you have to have some other things. An old Subaru, if it snows alot and a relaxing luxury car.
If you only have to worry about a little snow just split the difference and get a big 70s Oldsmobile.
You're after a Lincoln? Damn. The only one in my price range is an 83 for $800 at a friend's car lot near me.

My car will be a daily driver for me and that is all I shall drive year round when I get her. I just don't feel right driving anything slow or ugly. Even if I lived in a snow area I would just add weight to the back and some nice snow tires and be out on the road. ( I know there are alot of you out there that are saying, yea right buddy you will change your tune later.)
