how much power does the 80's style supra have? (turbos)

yeah when i had my old T/a my first loss was to a moving late 80's supra it had a big exaust so i decided to toy with him...or at least try to, i had the simple L08 motor (i think thats the name for the 305 TBI) but anywho i get up next to him look at him he just laughs and took off like i was just standing still, but we both got a red light, when it turned green i had his *** for about 5 car lengths, but he just flew by me like a street bike what the hell are those things capible of i mean i didnt hear any blow off valve but it DID say turbo under the supra badge i did feel good to say i got his *** off the line but moving tourque it was all supra

I think you mean LO3 motor, and yes they were low 15s, high 14s stock. But if you add boost to it, they can run 13s, there is no telling what turbo cars have done to them!

The late 80's early 90's supra turbo's had 220 hp i believe, and i'm pretty sure its lighter than a 3rd gen. With a boost controller and fuel pump, the turbo'ed models can easily push huge hp numbers. But the non turbo's are dogs.

I hope to get a Turbo Rgal or GN!!! They are the easiest to mod in the GM line, and the 5.0 is the easiest to mod in the Ford line!!! Can we tell my goal in cars!!!

I took my friend to test drive a Buick GN this summer, he was(and still is) looking for a fast car around 10k, so I found a 10,5k GN in the paper... we went out to see it and it was beautiful, and then we took it for a test drive When I got behind the wheel and stomped on it, it moved at a healthy clip, but I wasn't all that impressed.... well not until it got to about 2500 RPM, and I heard a high pitched wistle... and got sucked into my seat.

yeah

I wouldn't mind a GN or TTA :lala:

Amazingly, those cars keep better torque numbers than the V8s!!! Most V8s with 400+ hp have less torque, whereas the GNs would have over 500 ft lbs!!!
