A guy from i know at my school just sold his 95 camaro and bought what i think is a 91 or 92 GTA, he said its stock. I dont know that much about the GTA's so i was wondering how fast they are and how would a race end up between him and i. he has manual and i have auto.

if his is a manual it should be a 305 and you should take him.

 

You'll win. Post the results, even though I kinda know them already.

 

If both cars are running good your gonna need to make sure you have enough room to run him down.That car's running the same fuel curve and camshaft that you have and probley has factory twin cats. It'll launch way out in front. you'll need to catch it... I never ever lost to any stock 3rd gen 5.7 stop light to stop light ever and ran up against many. Very doubtfull that you'll beat him unless you got some room to go by him.

 

You'll take him as long as you don't spin em to much off the line.

the gta's are a tad heavier and the 305 tpi/5 speeds are a tad slower also..

 

Beware of "stock"..that means different things to different people. He might have exhaust and some bolt ons and might not even know it....or being that it doesnt have heads or a cam he might consider it stock.

Stock for stock(litreally), you'd have him by 2 tenths or so. So it's pretty close. I've beaten plenty of cocky 350 owners who had exhaust and bolt ons and thought 305's were junk. Don't be one of them!
