i have a stock replacement L98 longblock with stock heads and cam, but a stealth ram up top, T56 and 3.42, 24# accel injectors, ARAP prom modified for 24#ers. i have no clue what he had, but i saw the GTS as he gunned it and flew by and i saw him shifting so i know it was a 6speed. by the time he got to my front bumper i shifted from 6th to 4th and hammered it. within a few seconds i started reeling him in quick. (he was still pulling away at first when i started to accellerate) in no time we were nose to nose but i had to stomp my brakes due to a car comming up. i never shifted out of 4th. and was pulling hard the whole time. the stealth ram is helping out on the highway alot.

those GTS' are alot of hype if you ask me. When i had my IROC I used to eat those things alive. Even when I was stock they had nothing for me.

My cuz has one. They are not fast. Race it from a stop and wave goodbye when your multiple car lenths in front of him.

you know one of those all imports suck, big motors always win, turbo GSR motor in a CRX will not beat a LG4 b/c the LG4 has 8 cyl kinda ppl

but whatever the case a celica GTS is a nice car but a little over rated..... your car shouldn't have any problem beating one unless you mess the launch or miss a gear

 

thanks. yeah i had heard the celica was fast and then i heard they sucked. this was the first one ive seen run and i wasnt impressed. i pulled on him in no time. im sure if the car was turbo it would be a different story

 

i had a 92 celica with the all-trac set up, stock 8psi it ran 9flat in the 1/8, no 1/4 track close to the house in 1992, also had a turbo celica setup in an 89 toyota pickup but don't know what kind of times it had,never got to take it to the track.....but it was a lot of fun to drive.
