I would really like to see a 270bhp 2.8l since that engine isn't a popular performance choice.

Given GM's direction and thinking process, I wouldn't be surprised if they killed the Vette and replaced it with another FWD car.

i don't know if i can agree with you devianb. looking at some models that are coming out, it seems that GM is once again getting RWD friendly.

the caddy northstar 32v v-8 has been redesigned so that it can support rear wheel drive. the new caddy which is based off of the vette platform.

there is also much press about dodge going RWD in all of their mid sized cars.

I am really excited about Dodge having RWD cars again. Now if only they could bring back the Charger or Challenger.

well here is how it will probably happen.

dodge starts selling RWD cars.

public says "weehee RWD is fun" and buy them up.

GM will be like "dammit, our FWD isn't selling anymore, I guess people like RWD" and then they will start coming out with RWD

of course then with the big three making RWD platforms, the only way to get people to buy their cars is to...hold on....novel idea....INCREASE POWER.

with an increase in power well there becomes and increase in the ease of power sliding.

GM will probally not make the car, because then they would actually be able to get a car on the market that had some ***** for a mid-range priced car. We can not have that now can we, people do not like fast cars, they like cars that are "sporty" 4-door family sedans.

Honestly, GM is making so many mistakes. Why are they bringing out "Hot Rod" trucks? I am sorry but the 80's are over, low riding is not that popular, and not that many people want to cash out more than 35+K for a truck that does not even do the duties of a truck, trucks are meant to hall things, sports cars are meant to be fast, econo **** boxes are meant to be beater. GM should have realized this by now.

GM doesn't need to bring out another Truck. GM could however revive some of their existing car models. Maybe bring back the Grand Nationals, RWD Monte Carlos, and of course the F-body. I think there would be enough demand for these cars to make a small profit on the production. I think GM is just building vehicles for the largest target markets like sport compacts and family cars. It makes sense that GM makes more of the cars that the majority of people want. Many car buyers care more about comfort, saftey, styling, and price as the main determining factors in buying a car and don't care too much about drivetrain options and performance.

I am planning on saving up for a Vette too. I have never seen any good condition Vette sell for less than 8k. I want one of the 85-93 styles. I have to get a house first to store it in.

I hate the new styling that the cars are coming out with. Ugly lines.
