85 IROC puts hurt on 5.0

I was cruising downtown late at night when i hear this roar coming up beside me. Looked in the rear view and immediately recognized the mustang lights. So he comes right beside my door, drops it in neutral and revs at me. The car was a slick black notchback with the 16" pony rims. Didn't recognize the exhaust but for sure it was aftermarket. Anyway, i point up to the light, to see if he'll slow down so it can turn red. He did and we both paced one another until the light turned red. He revs and i rev back. The opposing lights turn red. I hold my revs to 3000 rpm. Our light changes and BANG! dump the clutch and roast the tires. Car hooked up fast, as he was 1/2 a length behind. Grabbed second and chirped the poor BFGs. The flowmaster just fills the interior at WOT. How i love it. 60 mph came and went, third gear, approaching 90 mph, grabbed fourth, 96 mph, looked behind and he was about 7-8 cars back. No reason to risk anything more and shut her down. He passed at a normal speed and gave me a honk, which i guess is a good gesture.
