There are plenty of 13 second cars out there that dont look like something that regularly comes out of my @ss.

I totally agree with 85transamtpi, some one spent alot of time to but a V-8 in a compact car but instead of putting something with some ***** they put a pretty much stock 302 (not a 429 Hemi, or a Tunnel Ram 351, etc.) a freakin' 302. What a waste of good engineering. Mid 13's for all that work, Too Bad!!!!!

Later, Garrett

Okay, someone needs to learn how to drive. 270 rwhp in that car should be in the mid 12s easily! 270 rwhp in a 3400 Mustang is good for high 12s on street rubber!

I will admitt it is one of the ugliest cars ever, but the 302 isn't a bad choice! It would be much harder to put a bigger motor in! Maybe they should have put a 305 than!!!

They also have a kit to where you can drop in the '03 Cobra engine into a Focus. Kit cost 10G+ and that does not include the engine. I could make a Metro faster than that for less.

yea... for that kinda power.. it should be runnin faster... but it deff. is carbed... they mention at the end that there is a kit for the cobra motor to go in one.. im tryin to picture the drive shaft... its gotta be like a foot long... It reads that ford enginers came to Krugel's shop, and told him to shove a GT-40 5.0 crate, a t-5 and a 8.8 rear into a focus... and to make it all bolt on.... some thing is wrong with ford... besides the usual....

nah.. its still about racing... how would this car fare agains an LS-1... both 320, give or take, at the fly (so they say)... would LS-1 pull out, or would the little ford turd take the gold?

I agree, but I think it's mostly traction problems. They have skinny little tires, on a light compact car, and V-8 torque...

I think the 302 is perfect for that car. Good aftermarket, lots of revs, cheap to maintain.

The author of the Focus article in HotRod ran a 13.97 @ 104.8 mph. Yea it's got some traction issues but rear end is sporting 17" 235's so it's not gonna be the best hooking RWD vehicle. Still, it would be an awesome car to drive fast on a gravel country road
