What is the power out of the 307? he said it came stock with over 250 hp.. but i dont know if thats gross power or net... whos gunna come out in the end? hes getting a rebuilt th350 and a shift kit in his car too... let me hear it boys!

Yeah I think you got this one in the bag.
You're going to jump his *** off the line, and maintain distance the whole race. Maybe if you race him for long enough his carb may allow him to pull... but that'd have to be a long race I'd say.

I don't think 307's ever had that much power, but I am not completely sure. You will definitly rock his socks off! His Chevelle weighs a good deal more than your Camaro and you also will have more power than him. My dad's first car was a 72 Chevelle with a 307 and he said it was really slow. I wouldn't lose sleep over this one. Have fun beating up on some muscle! Later.

EEWWW a 307?! Wow that thing is a bigger boat anchor than my L03. I would deffinantly say you got him beat, heck my RS would probably give him a beating.

That 307 was rated around 250... back then. On the 72 and newer net ratings it would only come in around 205-210. Horsepower TV just had a stock 1970 307 Chevelle dyno about 170HP at the wheels. And with his mods vs yours, accounting for his extra few hundred pounds also, I'd say you'll beat him pretty good!

You'll take him no prob man. A 307 in a chevelle is NOT going to beat your 305TPI. They are crappy motors and he has alot more weight. He's all yours....

Ahh yes the 307 Chevrolet the worst aspects of the 283 and the 327 combined into one terrible engine.

The opposite of which was the legendary :hail: 302 Chevrolet engine :hail:

Dude you'll smoke this guy unless he's lieing about the 307. I once raced a guy that told me he said he had a 302 in his S-10, after spanking him w/ my mildly modded L-69 he tells me it was a 283 block w/ a 327 crank. The *** pirate built a 307 instead of a 302

Stock 1970 Chevelle
454=500hpEST (LS6)
454=385hp regular SS
396=330hp regular SS
307=200hp

my point is seeings how that car weighs a tick over 4000 pounds a stock 2.8 V6 Camaro/Firebird would take a stock 307 Muscle Car

Race him from a 60mph roll. I tore up a built 72 Chevelle on the highway with my 305TPI cammed 86 Trans Am 5 speed.

Did he just tell you it's only a 307? You can't tell the difference between a 283, 302, 305, 307, 327, 350, 355, 383: it's the same block. Becareful, you might get spanked by a 383 cu in. "307"!

Well actually they aren't all the same. There are little differences between them. Also there is no such thing as a 355 or 383 block (they are 350 blocks) a 355 is a 350 block bored .030 over and a 383 is a 350 block bored .030 over and stroked with a 400 crank.
