69 nova vs. 91 RS

Hey guys, some guy that has a ****ty 69 nova at my school was messing around with a 67 4 door chevelle today as i was going home, their stupid looking cars made me laugh (not the cars, i love classic chevy's but the condition, and a 4 door ) anyway at a stop sign, i revved from behind the nova and he did a a one wheel burnout with his stock chevy tires, you know, those really skinny ones and i messed with him till we went our seperate ways (he was going to race the 4 door chevelle, which is a 283)
the nova has a 350 with just 40 series mufflers, basically stock, like me (my only mod on my 91 RS 305 is 3 inch exhaust and flowmaster muffler, no headers...yet). on monday im gonna race him, what do u guys think my chances are against the 67 and the 69.

sorry for the long post, im just wondering what im getting into,
My el camino is, slow, does that mean these 2 almost stock cars are too, or will i get raped

I think you'll beat both of them. The Chevelly doesn't seem like a threat at all. The Nova may be lighter and have a bigger engine, but a peg leg with puny tires doesn't nothing for it.

I wouldn't worry about the Chevelle too much, just be on the look out for that Nova. Those things are light and with a 350 they can be a force to be reconed with. even if he messes up off the line, he could catch you later on. its gonna be close. good luck and let us know how it turns out.

I raced a 73 (maybe 74) Nova about a year and a half ago. All he had was a 350 swap to update the 30 year old engine. My 92' RS (305 L03)only lost by one car length in the 1/8 mile. So, if you don't beat him, it will be very close.

i'd like to know... cuz maybe i have a chance with one of these... i've beaten the only 2 tbis i've raced.
there was another possible tbi, but i don't know... it was a camaro, but i don't know what it had... it sounded like it needed to be revived tho

Novas are very fast. My friend has a stock 69 nova that will run mid 14's consistantly. Only think he has done to it is put 4:11 gears in it. He still has the original 350 in it w/185,000 miles on it.

i usually beat him off the line in my Z28 (he doesnt hook up good), but then he just rips me a new one
