rods vs. physics...who wins?

I'll give you a hint...it ain't fun to find out at 6500 rpm

We'll assess the damage tomorrow, but externally it looks a little better than one would expect

I usually give physics the nod.

Hey rx7 you remember that one time in band camp when I had more posts than you? LOL you almost got twice mine... I guess I been hanging out at LS1.com too much.

Short rods lose to physics, six inch H beam rod beats it.

Oh man not Nic. That's not cool man. You're probably one of the most respected Stang owners on this site. Sorry to hear it man. Let us know what's up when you get the assessment done.

gmgod: You live in Springfield huh? What kinda of car you got? Maybe we can hook em up sometime. I'm only about 45min away.

Looks like a new crank, and rods. Have a buddy that runs FFW S/W that's hooking me up with some of his spares and another that owns a machine shop so it should be back on the streets within a few weeks. Had I not just put $325 into a custom cam and another $600 into lightweight pistons for a 306 I'd just go ahead and throw a 347 into it

Update...found a good roller shortblock. Going to have Lewis get started on the machine work here soon and picking the crank up from Tim mid next week. Still not sure what to do about the rods...use the ones out of the new shortblock? Maybe have them shot peened and balanced? A new set of forged rods isn't very expensive...go with those instead? I'll see what Lewis thinks. Looking at 310 cubic inches and just a tad over 11.0:1 now with a bottom end that'll be safe to 7,000 rpm.

My favorite one out of the girls I'm dating drives a '98 Firebird, is that close enough to owning an F-body?

I like anything fast and it's fun to come shoot the **** with you guys. Outside of the local boards, this is my favorite forum to come to. I'm also a member of turbobuick.com (although I haven't posted there in several years), supraforums.com, ZX2.com (no longer around), fxtreme.com (I'm kind of partial to hyundai's...they put food on my plate, mods on my car, and help pay my tuition), and jeepforums.com (although I stopped posting there when some moron tried to beat it into the ground that you could make more power with a naturally aspirated motor than you ever could with a turbo or supercharger and almost every other idiot on the board agreed with him)...basically, just into any and all types of cars but happen to own a Ford because I wouldn't be allowed to park a GM product in my driveway, seriously otherwise, I'd own an LS1

mmm....4.10's, 3 speed automatic, 3500 rpm stall converter, and 26" tires are no fun on the interstate, but it's a blast coming off a stoplight
