grrrr... lt1 sucks

well was heading wally world and ran into a nice 93-97 camaro. both of us hit the red light at the same and so being the r<x>icer punk I am there was a few revs thrown at him and he made a nice reply with his motor to show me that he is going to teach me a lesson. so I sit there with my chainsaw exhuast at about 4000rpms drowning out his powerfull v8 exhuast. light turns green I ease off and start slipping to clutch while he just dumps his while his tires start up in a small spin that was quickly taken care of. just a little chirp out of mine with no bog. I get the jump on him up till about 15-20mph.at the top of first spinning about 7900rpms (oops late shift) shift into second we are still for the most part evenup till about 40mph in second then he starts to just leave me after about 55 or so I shut down seeing I wasn't going to catch up.
well guess he showed me and my stupid r<x>icer mobile. just shouldn't mess with a v8 with my pesky metro sized motor.

everytime same luck same time they just start to leave me

He showed you huh? Well at least your car is decently fast to keep up with an LT1 for being an import.

We've all lost to an LT1 at some point or another. At least you're not afraid of a race. Too many people that I street race are afraid to lose. You were closer than I would have guessed, so nice race even though you lost.

hehe you should have seen it though once he did start leaving me behind..... he REALLY started to leave me....lol

and sorry about the way I put the kill against me
just heard to many of those r<x>icer stories where an import pulls up and revs so he is an instant r<x>icer.... well since I'm the import guess I'm the r<x>icer

still don't understand though why I was able to keep up for that long

car is loud enough I couldn't hear if he launch spun then bogged or what... and I assume that the tire spin was taken care of but again I couldn't hear the car...

any ideas though as to why it went "well" till about 20 or so then he start to gain and then he just started to run at about 40

I think being able to go 30-35mph in first really helps in a street race...

On the track whatever gets you out of the hole fastest

Is your exhaust really that loud...I really don't like the 'bumblebee, chainsaw, lawnmower' sound...are quiet performance mufflers even available for imports?

I'm not knocking your car, it just most of the imports in my area really hurt my ears when they hit the gas...and yet 99% of them don't appear to be visibly accelerating.

My exhaust is to loud for my car, and I'm looking for quieter mufflers, but it isn't at that tone and decible level that makes you grab your ears...

I'm using the stock mufflers
just have a header/test pipe replacing stock manifold and cats.
other then that it is the stock exhuast from the cat back
