72 Nova

My friend just got his 72 Nova running again after getting it bored out from a 350-355. He has 3.08 gears with a 3spd auto with a shiftkit. He just took it to the track and ran a 1/4 mile in 14.304 @ 94mph with a 60ft of 2. something, and 1/8 in 9 something at 78mph. His reaction time was a .658. Do i have a chance at beating him in the 1/4? I have no idea what my car would really run but a bunch of guesses from high 13's to low to mid 14's and a few guesses of 15's.
My car has all the mods in the sig with a 700R4 tranny (stock), 3.27 gears with a posi/limited slip rear. and the WS6 package. My cam is a 268* comp cam, i have 21lb injectors and K&N filter in the stock airbox. Any guesses? I think he has the only competition at my school.

I think you would need some headers and probably a good coil, cap, rotor upgrade.

i forgot to say that he did 7 runs with the best time of of 14.3. He said the rest of the time he had trouble hooking up and would spin the tires all the way down the track until he got traction and did the 14.3.

If he gets taht traction problem fixed, you might me seeing tail lights. Novas are very light cars. It really doesnt take much for them to be quick. I think you stand a pretty good chance though. Go race him and let us know.

Well if he's having traction problems... I think you have a good chance at beating him from a stop.
