Run in with a nasty cobra

Well I was Cruisin down the road with my girlfriend when a White mustang rolls up next to me. We're both goin about 45 and i slow down to see if its a gt. But when i slow down I don't see a symobol at all on the side, and theres no big hood scoop. Soo im thinking this guy wants to run me with a 6. But as he pulls up a little father up this cars got some authority in his exhaust note and he has the chrome cobra wheels. My girlfriend says, "Can You Beat this guy?" I really didnt know so i figured why not give it a shot? Well i down shift and right after the mustang does and right then i realize that this definetly is not a 6. Well Needless to say i heard the supercharger wind up and it was over. Left me like i was standing still. Later i pulled into a gas station behind the guy just too talk to him. Real nice guy told me it was an '03 cobra with a pully exhuast headers and drag radials. He said that he took the cobra symols off the side becuase they broke, damn good idea to trick some people, sure tricked me. My car is no slouch, but this cobra bitch slapped me. Really gave me a whole new respect for the cobra. I'm prolly headed down to the track with the guy this weekend, ill post some of the times for my car and his car.

Yeah those 03 cobras are no joke. A teacher at my school has one, and her husband has already shed over 500 lbs off of the car, did some upgrades with the pulleys, exhaust, powdercoated rims, and chip. Their cobra is no joke.
Hey atleast you dont have an LG4 like I do.

Sounds pretty nice. A kid in our club just put down 471 rwhp with his Cobra and will soon be doing a Kenne Bell supercharger and a hit of nitrous to pull near 700 rwhp! Oh ya, I think he pulled 368 rwhp stock (or very close to that).

Sounds about like our run in with an '03 last fall in my buddies '00 GT.

Nic - I really want to rape a modded '03 Cobra out on the street

Pick up a 5.0 mag and look at the article on the Kenne Bell they instaled. Off the spray it pulls high 600 rwhp numbers! He could theoretically pull 700 but might blow it up the way he runs it.

"Nitrous pete" has run the first 9 second pass with a factory bodied '03 Cobra a couple months ago. He was running 9.90's at over 140MPH.

His car is a production '03 cobra with pulley, full exhaust, some custom programming, a Lentech and some big *** slicks and a huge shot of nitrous. I think he was putting 650-700HP to the rear wheels.

It was in an issure of MM&FF. I'll have to reread it.

Yes he went to a kenne Bell from the Eaton and I don't think he had a huge Nitrous shot on it. He also launched very weak with it because of the IRS !
