My 88 Formula must be slow.

My friend in his Neon R/T 5 speed runs neck and neck with me from 60-100 and then he'll start to pull on me when my car shifts into OD. He's got intake, exaust, and Super-AFC.
All I have is nothing really.

I'd tear him up from a dig though, gotta love torque.

Or you could race him when the T/A's back on the road and be done with it.

Race him again and leave it in Drive so that it wont shift and you will probably pull on him.

Race him from a 35 mph roll. The downshift to 1st is great :hail:

I don't know about R/T 5 spds, but the automatics are slower than hell. They have to be a 17/18 sec car.

Like said, just make sure you're not in OD when rollin down the road and racing.

Whenever i race from a roll, from 60 i drop it down to second and keep it there until i hit about 90-100. It works really well.
If you let your tranny do the shifting fdor you, you will end up loseing alot.

For some reason, I hit 4800 in 3rd gear at 100-105.
Some of the members here are thinking that my trans is slipping.
My Trans Am with the 305 LG4 5 speed would pull hard to 130.
Here's a vid of the LG4 5 speed with a TPI slapped on top of it.

I doubt it has anything to do with it being auto or manual. What else had you done to the LG4 besides just an intake swap? Cam maybe?

In that vid, there was a cam, headers, full 3" exhaust, 52mm TB, MSD 6A, Blaster 3 coil, SLP Dual CAI, NON-FUNCTIONING PROM,

Well you don't think all those mods had anything to do with the LG4 pulling more?

Well, with that setup I can understand it pulling harder, but with just a carb and intake swap on the stock LG4, it pulled harder than the Formula,

I ran a 14.94 @ 92mph with just a those Edelbrock mods on the LG4.

I think your thinking of the base

guy accros the street has a base mod right now with minor mods.... barely hits a 18.1
thiking he might hit 17's soon

have another guy around here with a 2002 R/T running a 15.9
with exhuast, body kit, cold man intake, K&N, rims and I don't think a whole lot more then that

You sure that was an LG4 and not an L69? Those times seem incredible for a stock LG4 with just a carb and intake manifold!

Vin said LG4 and it had a really skinny stock exhaust.
Here is one of my slower runs on the track,

Well damn, I gotta hand it to you. That is one incredibly fast LG4, especially when you consider most of them had trouble running 16's, let alone 14's.

And this is the best slip with the LG4,
