92 RS vs. 2003 Accord V6?

I think I'm gonna lose this one, but what do you guys think?

Myself- 92 Camaro Rally Sport, 5.0L V8(305ci), 170hp@4000RPM, 255 ft-lbs @ 2400RPM

Other Person- 2003 Honda Accord EX, 3.0L V6, 240hp@6250RPM, 212 ft-lbs @ 5000RPM

Im just wondering if it would be close or will I be be left behind in the dust.

Are you running a TPI or TBI? Do you have any mods?

i think you would definetly take him off the line its just up top you need to worry about because he makes peek hp and tq between 5-6 thousand rpm. just make it a shorter race.

I would assume if he has 170 HP he is running TBI.

I wouldn't run this race if I were you (you might get embarassed)

Later, Garrett

only because you have RWD will you take him off the line.... before your auto gets out of first, he will be even... then he will walk away from you.

If he can drive the Accord it will beat you... 240 Hp and the car weighs somewhere around 200 lbs less than yours... you'll likely run even with him for a short while... maybe to 40 or 50 MPH... but after that you're dead in the water... the LO3 will die out right after he hits his power band.

Its really sad to say...but another vote for the accord.

If you're planning any mods, go with some non-engine stuff...suspension, gears, tires....and exhaust if you don't have it.

If you wanna beat that accord, ditch the 5.0 and get a good 350 built, then you'll be all set

There is nothing I would rather do than tell you the F body will win......but that would make me a liar. The Accord is going to win, unless you use your weight to your advantage and hit him off the road.

Im voting for the camaro. my brother has a 86 sport coupe with a 305 carb lg4 and he beat a 2002/2003 model around with that v6 in it. all my brother has is exuast(headers back) and k&n and he wooped one off the line and on top end and the person driving the accord actually told my brother they were tryin to beat him but still lost.

now back in 1986 the camaros had 155 or 165hp now add another 5 -10 hp and less miles and ulll probably win. just make sure u know how to launch the car so u dont spin the tires.

Just to let you know the 02 and 03 Accord V6s are different cars. The 02 has a 200hp 3.0 and comes with 5spd auto when the 03 has 240hp and 212lb-ft torque either comes with a 5spd auto or 6spd manual.

The 03s are very quick. They have the same motor/tranny as the Acura CL Type-S.
