Ok my friend just got his BEUTIFUL firebird. Its very nice. Some dude at work has an 82 supra that says that he wants to race him. He says he has ABOUT 220 HP on this thing......lol its stock. I did some research...the car weighs 3200 lbs, its stock 2.8 litre inline 6......according to the stats pages says it puts out an awe inspiring 145 HP. I told my friend to race him for money....beat the pants off of him, and have some fun! This dude says hes going to be doin headwork, and some interals work on his engine.....says he'll be pushing 300 horses on engine....alone....lol not without turbo buddy!!

anywho, just for sh*ts and giggles.....who ya'll think will win??

don't get too cocky there are some imports that are easily pushing 300+ hp with no turbo's but i say go ahead and race him and roast his *** with all that torque in the L98 it'll be no contest

BTW even with 300hp he'll have a hard time beating your friends car if it's in tune. those L98's pull some nice low torque #'s

 

um if the supra is puttin down 300 ponies the it will take the l98 sorry




p.s. 3rd gens suck nemore i crashed mine and got a 2000 mercury mountaineer and my friend got a crx and my other friend got a 98 gst and we all owned third gens

i think it would be seriously close giving the L98 the edge cause of 345lbs of torque compared to 200 to 250 at most on the torque side. the i-m-poopers don't make torque like the L98. if the old supra's is around 3200 lbs (i'm just guessing) i think it woud be a good race IF that car does make 300 hp which i seriously doubt.

 

lol this got all taken wrong. the car does NOT have 300 ponies right now. And it won't. not for long amount of time. My friend wanted me to ask about just the way their cars are stock....

Some match-ups are stupid. This is one of them. Bring a couple lawn chairs and tell the Supra dude you'll be waiting for him at the finish line.
