FIRST race since IROC ownership...

I just got done with my mods listed in my sig... I've owned the car 2 months and have yet to race anyone... well, that is until tonight.

I was dropping a friend off at home at about 1:30 and this 92ish Integra comes flying up next to me... Revving and all. I had the IROC in 2nd or 3rd gear...

Anyway - This 'teg was a 4 door w/full body kit, lowered and sounded like it had VTEC.

I gave him a taste of the IROC and pulled away quickly. The kid came back and I let him pull on me... I do that to get an idea of what the car is capable of. Anyhoo - I then got next to him and just mashed the pedal... We took off - He kept falling farther and farther back...

I guess its not as funny in print, but it was funny as hell to us.....

I didn't realize my IROC was quick until tonight.

do you have a 305 or 350? im guessing 305 based on the fact that you were talking about what gear it was in.

Where do you live that you can get away with removing all of your emissions stuff?

Yup, 305 w/700R4. Mods are listed in the sig.

I live in Idaho. No emissions here....

EASY... As the RPMS climb, you can hear a change in tone from the revs. It also sounds to me, like the engine is accelerating faster.

If you hear it for the first time, you'll remember it. Its pretty easy to hear.

I don't think you can "hear" a VTEC, especially in your car with nothing more than a glorified cherry bomb for a muffler

I am quite sure its possible to hear VTEC kick in. The VTEC causes the engines tone to change quite drastically.

I've got many friends with VTEC on the Hondas and it is a very definate change.

Yes you can hear it especially if the ***** has exhaust. It's just the engine basically switching cam lobes. Nice kill, but beating an older integra doesnt really make you "quick."

With the VTEC cars I have raced I have never really heard the VTEC. But then again they were always way behind me

always fun to win, but know your competition. a '93 acura for example is around 140hp, even the gs-r tops out at like 160hp.

my 2.8-v6 was hangin' with them after it had a few mods.
