who will win??

my friend just bot a 91 Z28 with a 5.7L (350) with an automatic tranny wich is all stock nuthing has been changed and it runs very well. has ruffly 110xxx miles on it

my car is an 83 z28 with an lg4 305 and also an automatic tranny both cars have over drive, my car has the folowing mods: also ruffly 32xxx miles since it was rebuilt.

Carter Afb Competition Series Carb
Weihin Stealth intake
Hooker Competition Headers
Crane Cam (mild)
summit racing open air air filter
True dual 2 1/4 inch exuast with flowmaster mufflers
rebuilt cap and roter new plugs and new excel plug wires

if me and my friend were to race i wanted to no who would prolly win in the 1/4 mile and also on top end who would have the better chance at these 2 types of races. am i screwed at being able to beat him and should except that my car will get eaten alive or do i have a chance?

I would imagine since you have a mild cam you could hang trough first maybe half of second but expect to get walked pretty hard. You will lose. It will be close like I said at first but I am pretty sure he will put a good beating on you. Good luck though, maybe he can't drive

A stock 350 TPI will take you any day.

Ow Syntax...Grammar...Spelling...my head.....

You know...LG4s make pretty neat looking planters with the heads off and are nice reliable daily drivers but they are nothing you would want to race in. Don't even bother, especially with the stock heads and cam.

I don't think it will be as bad as everyone thinks. A bolt on LG4 with a cam isn't going to be the turd a stock one will be by far. I say it will be a good race if the other guy is stock and your car is in good shape. I say get some gears and who knows, you might actually win if you get a good launch.

Uh, I hate to burst everyone's bubble, but if his cam is as "mild" as mine, then it will be a total embarassment. I have everything he does except the carb and intake manifold. And those two mods won't be enough. L98 all the way, especially out of the whole, unless you have 4.10s or higher.

the only way u will win is if ur friend with the 350 spins forever. my brother has a 91 z28 350 tpi with the g92 package and he's running 14.4 at 94mph with just a flowmaster american thunder catback, k&n air filters, BMR lower control arms, and panhard bar and thats it i think, im sure thats it, cant rememeber if he has anything else. oh yeah and a set of March underdrive pulleys he put on after he ran.

now if u have a good high 14's 305 then it might be reaction time to see who gets it and see who doesnt spin.

right now im just hopeing for very low 15's and possibly very high 14's with all my mods, ill find out this up coming saturday.

Well, with the 3.73s he won't destroy you as bad as he would me, but do you know your cam specs? Maybe if you have at least numbers in the 470 range for lift you could do well. Just launch it really well, and a higher stall would not hurt at all. You have have to hope you can stay within a car or two out of the hole, and then try and beat him up top.
