wrx sti

what do they run? I ran a guy with a brand new one who claimes it had 300 hp and ran 13.3 in the 1/4 (this is what every one there says). I guess from what every one says he is real good at driving stick too. well I guess I will get to the story. I had my car runing pretty good so I was crusing with my friends 5.0 and I pull up to a camaro and was giving my car a little high idle at the light to see if the camaro wanted to run. this wrx sti was sitting between us at the light and must have thought I was doing this for him so when the light turned green I waited a little to see if the camaro was going to run he started to break his tires loose and this wrx just jumps like 1 1/2 car right away. so I nail it and as I'm spinning he gets about car ahead. I hook up and shift to second gear my car jumped right up to his back bumper and I pull up even with his pass door then I shift to 3rd gear and just keep on going right by him. I slow down and he catches up and drops it a gear he nails it again right away getting about 1/2 a car on me before I can drop mine and pass him again only faster this time not having to worry about spinning my tires. he caught up to me as I was leaving right at the next light and all he could do was look at me real confused. I don't know what happened to the camaro after 1st gear though? I did not stick around being we were really moving my friend in the 5.0 was just laughing at the wrx sti. him and the other guys that go there crusing alot were telling me about this sti car and the guy. I guess none of them like him.

Not sure how deep into the 13's they'll run, but they're pretty quick cars and can definitely run 13's off the showroom floor.

All the test I've seen put the STI at a low 13 trapping around 103-105 mph. Your not going to beat one out of the hole, its just not going to happen at least not on street tires.

ive seen a few of these at the track. best run out of the lot was 14.0 at 102mph. maybe with good driving they could get high 13s, but low 13s i think would have to be with some aftermarket parts

on Tnn (now spike Tv) they have a show that reviews cars and they test them. Once they had one of these..they are 300hp..300trq (i think on the trq) AWD...you arnt going to beat it outta the hole and they ran it in the 1/4 and went 13.5.

I raced a STi on the freeway a couple of weeks ago. I was just driving normal in front of a pack of cars (open roads ahead). I saw the guy weaving in and out behind me so I sped up a little and flashed my hazards. He tried to do a fly by but I downed and matched his speed. Right as his front bumper lined up with my pass side mirror I started walking him. Pulled about 4 car lengths and shut it down (traffic ahead). He followed me to the offramp and lined up next to me at the light. He asked me what the heck was in my Camaro. I told him it was a v6. He looked really confused so I laughed and told him the truth. He said his Sti was bone stock. I think those cars have alot of potential.

Hard to beat 300hp/AWD off the line...or in any type of bad weather

My buddy has a new STI, thing is sweet as hell. He can manually crontol the amount of torque that goes to each wheel....its pretty cool....he launched like a bat out of hell in the rain with most of the tq in the rear.....It is fast tho...

I didn't try to race him off the line. I thought it was just another wrx and was trying to pick on the camaro. after ward is when I found out the thing was supoused to be fast. just wanted to know if it was all or if they really are. I saw it last night again and it is a sti for sure. well I guess I got my car running pretty well then being I passed by him pretty quick twice

LCA's & Radials...and you'll have no problem violating AWD off the line.

I did it on a stock suspension with just BFG Drag Radials on my Iroc. The STi's are the TPI of 4 banger turbo's. They are all low-end & mid-range power, top-end is virtually non-existant.

I've ridden in an STi countless times and after we hit 80mph it was almost like it died. Take a look at the reviews for the STi and you will see the vast majority of reviews will slam and list the STi's lack of top-end as a major weakness.
