M3 goes down and so does a Jag....
getting the vette ready for carlisle this weekend i washed her up friday and took her out to rt 100 to dry her off
i'm cruising about 70 mph and i see this M3 blow by me about 90. i was like oh hell no! drop it down in second and hammer down. i get next to him around 120 mph and stay in it. at 145 mph i was 6-8 cars in front and i shut her down hard on the binders to take my exit. when i was next to him he gave me a big smile as i went by.
coming home from carlisle last night a Jag was up on my bumper for about 10 miles as i made my way thru the traffic. finally it opened up and i dropped it in 2nd and hammered it. he ended up being a speck in my rear view
when he caught back up the passenger had a big grin on his face and gave me the thumbs up.
man i love the 70+ runs!

Good *** what kind of salt flat gears do you have in that thing? I've got 3.27's in the L98 car and at a 70 mph punch I take off in 3rd.

Good show man...unfortunately it was in a vette...don't get me wrong, I think the vette is one of the most impressive vehicles of our time, but I feel that the thirdgens need that kind of clout, it is a tragedy that our cars are looked upon as red neck cars...I would just like to hear the same story about a thirdgen...
it saddens me...other than that; I am very happy for you man

I hate to double post because I really could'nt care less about a post count; but I thought those M3's were fast. I raced one from a dead stop to about 60 mph and got him by about a car. That really suprised me, what suprised me even more is that what looked to be an eighteen year old kid was driving an $80,000 convertible. We are talking about the new ones right?

hehehe i have a 2.59 rear gear so i'm shifting into 3rd at 90 mph at 5000 rpm.
they are fast but not that fast
i thought they had around 300 hp. i know the M5 is around 400 hp but close to 4000 rpm. i'd love to run one on the top end
i also got a 3rd gen that i'm working on. she'll be a highway freak also when i'm done. pushing around 500 hp with either a LT1 or LS1 stroker.

if you passed up the first one with that much momentum over him of course you are gonna win, thats a no brainer.
and for the second one, how do you know he punched it at the same time as you and tried to keep up.
from your first post it just seems like some fun on the street but not a good race.

The older M3s from the 90s-01? had 240 horse NA 3.2 liter inline 6s.
The current M3 is much faster with 333 hp from I think the same 3.2 liters, they made the power with Variable Valve timing and other tricks. They also have 6 speeds. I have heard 4.6-4.8 0-60 times for the new ones.
What kinda Jag was it? Good runs.

haha taking an M5, good luck. M5's are about the most unbelieveable car ive ever driven, no deadspots in the power curve at all, and as for the new M3's, they are 333 hp and very quick. but as most bmw's are they are geared high, so 70-150 they are going to blow most people away, but still both cars, when drivin right and not some rich jackass that doesn't know how to race, will pull very low 13's in the 1/4, both cars come in 6 speeds or the m3 accually has F1 style paddles, not that manumatic bull**** either.

M5's are fast but weigh 4000lbs i hear stories of C5's smoking them on a regular basis.
BTW i'm pushing somewhere around 300 hp and around 375 in torque.
