Stupid race: me vs BMW 325i

Ok hears the deal there is a girl that goes to school with my girlfriend who has a late 90's 325i. She thinks she has the coolest car in the world so she challenges my Girlfriend to a race. Well my girlfriend has a 98 T/A auto, and I have added a ws6 ram air hood and box, gutted the air box & mass air sensor, Ws6 exhaust and a hypertech chip. I am not sure what gears she has ,but I ran a 13.0 in it this summer .I knew it would be a wasted of time for my girlfriend to race her so I said I would and she laughed and said "will it even finish the race". So now I am pissed. For those of you who dont know my mods are as follows :
Full Roller 350 now W/ a holley commander 950 700 cfm setup.
Performer RPM intake ,Open element filter,Edelbrocke headers into a 3'' pipe and glasspack dumped before the rear axle,B&M ratchet shifter and shift kit,no emissions crap,3.08 gear, and 255X50 drag radials out back.I know none of that is in my sig,I want to go to the track and get a new time before I post my new setup in my sig.I went 14.6 with the mods in my sig. So what do you think , her car is bone stock. What do those things run anyways?

My friend has an auto and he ran a 16.3 with an intake exaust and chip. I know the 5 speeds are faster but nothing you can't handle.

The 325 is a nice little car but not a performance BMW. I would say its running high 15's to mid 16's there wouldn't be a contest.

My friends is a 95 and it even says the ET in the manual. Stock its at 16.8 and the manual is 15.8 so either way you got it.

hey now....I had an 89 325i 5spd 189000 miles with just the Dinan chip and a Dynomax catback about a year ago...ran a 15.1 one time with a perfect launch...car wasnt no punk...I know that 98 TA would rape it, and yours should too with a 14.6, but if tha girl can drive it could be close...I know someone with 4.10s, computer chip, exhaust and slicks who runs LOW 14s all day long in an 88 325is...so make sure hers is stock before you racer. hope you win

Well I raced her last night after arguing with her for an hour."I already smoked a new trans am in my car and I know it , so I dont have anything to prove to you", she said.Which made me laugh finally she agreed to race me and I had her and all her friends meet me at the back road we race at. We lined up and I had someone flag us we took off I nailed it and took her by 3 cars off the line and just kept pulling at like 60 I let off and let her catch up and when she did I nailed it again and left her.I figured that was imbarrasing enough, but her boyfriend starts talking crap and says she doesnt know how to drive and thats why she lost. He was like "she caught you at the top end ",and I said I let off at 60 to make her look stupid. And he was like what ever. So we raced again and I punched it the whole time and beat him by at least 5 cars my friend said. It felt good kicken her *** after she talked crap about my car.

why do so many people think that thirdgens are dogs and a piece. I hear this too many times like everyone thinks thirdgens are comlete junkers. Thank you for killing that BMW so that next time she sees one, she'll think twice about how a V8 camaro runs and performs. good race, go out and beat some other people that think thirdgens suck then see what they think. Will it even finish I guess she just didn't know any better.

That's the beauty of owning one. There are so many stock RS cars out there that run 16s to 17s that a lot of people think they all run like that. You take a mid 80s camaro ready for a rebuild and drop something as simple as a l98 short block, a moderate cam, vortec heads, performer rpm intake and a 750 cfm carb and shock the hell out of people.

yeah, gotta love it about our cars, thety usually get underestimated when there's actually a descent motor under the hood. I just don't know, maybe to some people these f-bodys look to passive to be real performers, but I think they look pretty good to me. Maybe it's that there's a-lot more stock RS's out there that aren't really the fastest F-bodys. It doesn't really matter that much anyways, as long as our tail lights are out front

christ man, a mid 90s M3 only runs high 14s, take the POS to school. you could handle those cars with 305s.

Obviously she's never been in a fast car. She prolly chirped the tires one day at a red light and now (or then) she thinks its running. You shoulda took the chick in your car and showed her real power. Something i have noticed is a car is always faster to a girl than it is to you.

Nice kill!! I hate bimmers. Slow, ugly pieces of crap.

Definately true. This chick thinks my stock '79 4WD 350 Blazer has mad "*****" when I floor it. Personally, I think I can run faster... and I don't run - ever.

I keep telling her that she'll cream her pants when l take her for a ride once I get my firebird (355, with a few nice mods) running reliably. No point in impressing her with the 'bird and then having to call a tow truck for a ride home! Hehe... stupid electronics!

Thats what I thought until I drove a few of em. They might be slow, and ugly compared to our cars, but they arent pieces of crap, them things are actually perty nice, and have a nice balance between handling and ride quality...try it youll like it

Oh, and BTW bimmers draw chicks like a magnet, never met a classy girl that likes a 79 Blazer...thats almost worse than my friends '76 F150...kind of hard to holler out of that one unless youre near the trailer park...

the 3 series in general is just a joke performance wise....i know a guy who has a 318 and i think my step dads volvo wagon (its like an 80s volvo) with 250 000 k that barely even runs is faster. Its funny to show someone who has those cars what a little bit of torque feels like

The 3 series is a waste of money. I wouldn't even consider a BMW until a 5 series.

i had a chance to be in a 745L, now THAT my friends is a car..you're a big dawg if you're riding in one of those.

i'd still take a Benz E55 AMG over a 7 series though

I took a 325i bad one time. We had just left a stop sign and were going up a hill and he decided he wanted to try it - "bad move mister", I thought (uphill is torque territory!) I just smoked his ***. Real bad.

I am happy you embarrassed her - she needed some schooling on the physics of internal combustion and the inaccuracy of calling a race by brand names.

Hey I love my Z but I just came from Germany and let me tell you a M5 can roll out. You will be going 300 k's before you know it and still be sitting in comfort. I also had a friend with a 90 M3. It was the boxy looking ones with the big fender flares and he had it built for the 1/4. He handed his share of *** whoopins out. I never really thought much of BMW's but now I love them. But the American spec Bimmers dont have quite as much power as the Euro spec ones. I love F-body's and would never get rid of mine and Bimmers are by no means are built for racing from a stop and there are very few that could run with a mildy built Camaro or Bird.

Just my two pennies.

Just raced a proud owner of a 325ci, beat him pretty badly. However, I would take one over my Formula in a split second.

BMW's not my style, but I've got respect for em. I've run some driving schools with the local BMW club (the big boss was the president the last 2 years) with my 96 TA. Sure my car had mad power (it was stock with K&N and Borla cat-back), but it burned up the brakes and the first time at MIS I kinda fried 3 of the 4 clutches in the tranny... The BMW's will put up with that kind of abuse over and over again right from the factory.

My new car has been around so many silver E46 BMW's that, if it could, it would speak with a german accent... (a 330i, a 325 and an M3)

The 3 series is my opinion is a waste of money but you better bet your bank account I'd take a 5 series over a Fbody ANY day of the week.

Either you guys are incredibley loyal or retarded, either one

No Fbody can hold a candle to a 5 or 7 series...granted they're a lot more $$ but still...

Then again I'd take a E or S class Benz over any of them

:hail: E55 AMG

I take that back actually, I would take a bmw over my camaro , and then I would sell the damn thing and buy 5 camaros of different years and still have enough money left to modify them, I guess I am just loyal to the camaro,I have respect for some BMW's ,but I would never take one over a nice Camaro.

intresting.... i raced one this morning with my L03.

best this car has ever run was 16.00 and that was with the worn struts/shocks (more weight transfer)... with the new struts and shocks, i know i cant launch as "hard"

i beat one from a 5mph roll into work.... only by half a car length or so, but i beat him... lmao...

he must of had somthing heavy in the trunk........

btw, why do people assume they cost so much? because they're BMWs?

i almost bought a nice used late 90s M3 a lil over a year ago... it was just a hair under 20k....

once those cars get old or get miles on them, they lose alot of value... to a point of course

Hey don't hate on all the BMW's. I"m driving a 94 325i and that thing pulls. the thing is running faster than any of the cars my family has. I keep up with lt1s and I stick to mustangs like a leech. and mine is completely stock except for a blown muffler which makes it sound loud. but don't think they arn't good competition. off the line you can beat them but as soon as you hit 70 to 80 mph that;'s when the DOHC show their strength. my top speed on mine was 135 mph and it keep pulling through the numbers like it was accelerating on first.. I'm not exaggerating either.

M3s are one of those cars that you need to worry about being able to finish the race. considering they are slow 13 second cars, if they don't burn up all their special BMW oil before they finish the race, their glass bottom ends might snap. It's funny, you learn just how ****ty some of these "high end" imports really are when you see past the hype and talk to people who've actually owned the cars for a long time and hate them. and there is no way in hell a 325i will EVER hang with an LT1 or even an LB9 for that matter. a 96-98 4.6 auto mustang would be dead even with those 3-series slow turds. I hope you stomped that prissy bitch's 3-series badly
